A tree coming down doesn't mean it all has to go to landfill.

Wherever we can, we mulch timber and green waste on-site rather than just carting everything away to be dumped. It cuts down on truck trips, reduces what ends up in landfill, and turns what would otherwise be waste into something genuinely useful — mulch is great for garden beds, helping retain moisture and suppress weeds, so if you'd like to keep some for your own garden, just let us know and we'll leave it behind.

Where timber is suitable, we'll also look at whether it can be repurposed rather than chipped, whether that's firewood, garden edging, or something else depending on the type and condition of the wood.

It's a small part of the job in the scheme of things, but it's one we take seriously — trying to do this work a bit more responsibly, rather than just clearing a site and moving on to the next one without a second thought.

There's nothing like a good before-and-after. 😄

We love the jobs where a yard goes from "overgrown and a bit forgotten" to actually usable again in a single visit. Hedges that had lost their shape years ago get brought back into clean lines, a dead or dangerous tree comes down safely, stumps that have been sitting there for who-knows-how-long finally get ground out, and all the green waste gets hauled away rather than left in a pile by the fence.

Not sure if that tree in the backyard is just "a bit tired" or actually in trouble? Fair question — it's honestly not always obvious from the ground, especially with larger, older trees where the real issues are hidden inside the trunk or below the surface.

When we come out for a health check, we're looking at the whole picture. That means checking the trunk for signs of decay, cracking, or fungal growth, assessing the canopy for dieback or uneven leaf coverage, and getting a read on the root zone and how stable the base actually is. We'll also factor in things like recent construction nearby, changes in soil moisture, or storm damage that might have gone unnoticed.

Sometimes the fix is genuinely simple — a prune here, a bit of deadwooding there, and the tree's good for years. Other times, it's worth knowing sooner rather than later if a tree is in decline, particularly if it's near a house, driveway, or somewhere people spend time.

Either way, you'll get a straightforward, honest assessment — not a sales pitch designed to talk you into work you don't need.
