PROJECT WIN: New Generation Catherine House, SA

We are grateful to share a meaningful new project win for Hindmarsh – New Generation Catherine House.

Working in partnership with Housing Choices Australia and Catherine House, New Generation Catherine House will include 52 apartments across an eight-storey development, purpose-built to create a safe and supportive environment for women experiencing homelessness and domestic and family violence.

From a construction perspective, we’re bringing a considered and efficient approach, incorporating prefabricated systems and innovative slab solutions to reduce waste, improve program certainty, and minimise disruption on a constrained site.

The development will offer a mix of crisis, transitional and long-term accommodation, with self-contained apartments that include private bathrooms, kitchens and laundry facilities. Thoughtfully designed to support both independence and community, spaces such as a Women’s Centre including education and training areas, shared kitchen facilities, meeting rooms, and secure outdoor spaces will foster connection, wellbeing and most importantly – safety. There will also be 24/7 specialised on-site support, including a dedicated staff accommodation.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to bring this project to life that will have such a lasting social impact.

Arc Bowden has officially topped out! 🏗️

We reached a huge milestone recently and a credit goes out to the entire team driving this project forward.

With around six months to go, we're now moving into the final phase and tracking ahead of program, a strong position that reflects the effort, coordination and commitment across every part of the build.

State Manager - Construction SA, Ben Tolley, says "I would like to thank the project team, as well as all staff who have contributed along the way, for their dedication, effort, and professionalism in bringing the project to this point. Well done!"

Hindmarsh is happy to announce we have been awarded the enabling works package for the New Bankstown Hospital, with works already under way!

This technically complex initial stage will prepare the site for main construction and includes the staged demolition of the former TAFE NSW Bankstown campus, site remediation, and essential services upgrades to support ongoing and future works.

With neighbouring businesses, educational facilities and residents in proximity, strong collaboration with Health Infrastructure and stakeholders will be key to delivering these works safely and responsibly.

The New Bankstown Hospital will deliver contemporary healthcare facilities for the diverse and growing local community.

PROJECT COMPLETION: Stockland Momenta Multi-Level Logistics Facility, NSW

Hindmarsh is taking industrial projects to the next level – literally!

We are delighted to mark the recent completion of a milestone project with Stockland – the Stockland Momenta Mult-Level Logistics Facility in Banksmeadow, our first multi-level industrial project.

The multi-level industrial project sets a new benchmark for how constrained urban sites can be reimagined, unlocking value and supporting more sustainable industrialisation and shaping the future of logistics in Australia.

From deep CFA piling and large-scale remediation works, to suspended warehouse structures, B-double access ramps and multi-level office spaces, the project required innovative thinking at every stage.

Further initiatives included recycling over 90% of construction waste, retaining existing materials and mature trees where possible, and implementing on-site contamination management strategies to minimise environmental risk and material export. An 852kW solar system, supported by on-site battery storage, also contributes to a more sustainable, energy-efficient asset.

A huge thank you to our project team, partners and stakeholders for their collaboration and commitment in delivering this outcome.

We’re excited to see the long-term impact this facility will have for logistics and the wider community.

PROJECT COMPLETION: The Queen Elizabeth Hospital – Fast Track Beds, South Australia

Together with Central Adelaide Local Health Network and the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, Hindmarsh has delivered 36 new fast-track beds at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, helping streamline patient flow and ease pressure on emergency services.

Works conducted on the project included the refurbishment of five operational areas within the hospital, including new facilities for the Pain Management and Endocrine & Diabetes Units, delivered across four carefully sequenced stages that required meticulous planning to maintain minimal disruptions to clinical services in the live hospital environment.

Hindmarsh is honoured to have contributed to improving the health infrastructure of Adelaide, delivering both The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Mental Health Rehabilitation Service in September 2025 and the fast-track beds early this year.

The ceremonial key handover to University House marked the completion of one of Hindmarsh’s longest projects, a milestone years in the making and one our team is very proud to have achieved.

Following the destructive storm on Monday 20 January 2020 in Canberra, University House building sustained extensive damage caused by the rain and hail affecting all areas of the roof, all services, the hotel, bar, restaurant and student accommodation, requiring the building to close for significant hazmat remediation repairs and refurbishment.

Together with the Australian National University, consultants and subcontractors, the project team have been working collaboratively to restore the glory of this Canberran icon, ensuring the Commonwealth Heritage listing of University House was at the core in producing a high-quality result.
