A huge congratulations to Climb High Training's Certificate III in Arboriculture - class of 2024 graduate Will McCormack on being named joint winner of the 2026 New Arborist of the Year Award Australia! 🌳🏆

Announced at the Australian Tree Climbing Championships in Hobart, which was hosted by Arboriculture Australia, this award recognises outstanding new arborists in their first three years in the industry, celebrating skill development, dedication, and passion for arboriculture.

Competitors are tested across a wide range of arboriculture skills including tree identification and industry knowledge, knot tying, throwline use, worksite safety assessment, climbing events, and fast-paced timed “Arbgames” challenges.

We have been lucky enough to watch Will’s journey over the past 3 years, from his very first chainsaw course through to becoming a graduate of our Certificate III in Arboriculture 2024 class and continuing on to be an incredibly skilled and motivated Arborist.

We are extremely proud of everything he has achieved and cannot wait to see what the future holds for him.

Congratulations Will — very well deserved! 👏🌲

🌳 Big thanks to Canopy Tree Experts! 🌳

A huge shoutout to Canopy Tree Experts for kindly providing a chipper for our recent practical session for the FWPHAR2208 Operate a mobile chipper/mulcher & TLID0020 Shift materials safely using manual handling methods course, held yesterday at the CHT Yard. Your support gave our students invaluable hands-on experience — we appreciate you! 🙏

• FWPHAR2208 Operate a mobile chipper/mulcher
Teaches the skills and knowledge to safely operate hand-fed or machine-fed mobile chippers/mulchers to chip or mulch timber refuse (branches and timber waste). Applies across arboriculture, forestry, local government, emergency services and similar roles.

• TLID0020 Shift materials safely using manual handling methods
Covers assessing risks with relocating loads, planning the relocation, and carrying out manual handling safely and in compliance with WHS/OHS requirements. Ideal for workplaces that require safe manual handling practices.

Why formal training matters:
Operators of chippers should receive recognised training before using machinery — it reduces risk and keeps everyone safe on site.

📣 Thinking of upskilling your crew?
We can schedule training at a time that fits your team’s workload — from individual units to full, on-site group sessions. Get practical, industry-led training and expert guidance.

📩 Send an email to [email protected] for further information and/or to book a course.
