Iron deficiencies are common after long periods of rain and can slow growth dramatically as your plants struggle to photosynthesise.

How to treat Iron deficiency

Symptoms:
Leaves turn yellow or brown between the veins while the veins remain green. Young leaves can turn almost white.

How to control:
Check your pH as you may need to adjust the soil acidity to allow the plant to take up Iron. Then you can apply an Iron chelate as per directions. Liquids are easier to apply every 2-4 weeks until new growth appears healthy.

ALWAYS FOLLOW PACKET DIRECTIONS

Pest Alert - Thrips

These little suckers have been reported in your area.

Everywhere you turn you can find a Viburnum infested with thrips turning lush green hedges brown and sickly.
Luckily, they can be controlled. We have compiled some tips to help you identify them and tackle these nasties head on.
------------------------------------------------------------

How to control Thrips on Viburnum

Symptoms:
Adult thrips are tiny - 1-2mm long, with narrow yellow to black bodies. You'll more likely spot their damage first - leaves will appear silvery brown on the upper surface and often have brown droppings underneath.

How to control:
Prune off light damage but if infestations take off you may need to spray. A simple soap spray may do the trick or upgrade to Baythroid if infestations are severe. Always follow instructions and apply early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid bees.

Sound like hard work?
Give us a call and we'll sort these suckers out for you AND get your garden on track to be the envy of the street
