This one sits right on the edge of Canberra in the Ginninderry Estate. And the setting is as good as it sounds.

Our Macnamara project is a full front and backyard build on a block that backs onto open space with views most Canberra homeowners would dream of. A site like this demands a design that rises to meet it.

The front yard was designed to create a strong first impression from the street. Considered planting, clean material choices, and a layout that complements the home's architecture. Every element placed with purpose so the streetscape feels finished and intentional.

The backyard is where the design really had to work hard. With Ginninderry's natural landscape as the backdrop, the challenge was to create a functional outdoor space without closing off the connection to what's beyond the fence line. The levels step down with the natural fall of the land. Retaining walls hold structure while keeping sight lines open. Hardscaping zones create distinct areas for entertaining and relaxing without the space feeling divided.

That's the difference between landscaping that fills a space and design that shapes one.

Amberfield in Weston Creek. One of the largest projects we've taken on.

We were brought in to deliver the landscaping across LDK's new premium seniors' living village. Not a single backyard. An entire neighbourhood.

The scope on this one was unlike anything residential. Kilometres of pathways connecting buildings and communal spaces. Garden beds designed to feel established from day one. Retaining structures working with the natural terrain across the site. Green spaces planned around how residents would actually move through and use the development.

Every element had to be considered at scale. The planting couldn't just look good in isolation, it had to work as a connected system across dozens of individual areas. Pathways had to be accessible, durable, and blend with the architecture. Drainage, levels, and irrigation all had to be coordinated across the full site before a single plant went in the ground.

From above you can see how it all ties together. From ground level, it just feels like a well-designed place to live. That's the goal.

This project gave our team the chance to apply the same design-led thinking we bring to residential work at a commercial scale. Same attention to detail. Same standard of finish. Just a much bigger canvas.

If you're a developer, builder, or project manager planning landscaping for a multi-dwelling or commercial project in the Canberra region, we'd welcome the conversation.

Boots on, sleeves up, job in progress.

This is the middle stretch. The bit you don't see in the final photos. Levels being checked, materials being moved, decisions being made on the ground that the drawings can't always predict.

It's also the bit we don't hand off. Same crew from day one to the final walk through. When you're on site every day, you catch the things a fly-in contractor would miss.

Good design on paper means nothing if the planting is wrong.

Plants are what make a landscape feel finished. They soften the hard edges, bring movement, change with the seasons. Get the selection right and the whole space lifts.

We choose plants that actually suit Canberra. Frost tolerant where it needs to be. Drought hardy through summer. Layered so the garden looks good year round, not just the week we hand it over.

Sometimes a backyard just needs a fresh start.

This Conder home had an outdated outdoor space that wasn't getting used the way it should. The owners wanted somewhere they could actually enjoy spending time in, not just look at through the window.

The block had a natural slope from the house down to the back fence, which meant the design had to work with the levels rather than fight them. We used the fall of the land to create two distinct zones - an upper entertaining area that connects to the house and a lower section that opens up into the garden.

Retaining walls were built to hold the levels and create clean transitions between the two. Hardscaping was laid across both zones to tie them together so it feels like one connected space rather than a backyard split in half.

Down the back, we built a fire pit area tucked into the lower section of the yard. Somewhere the family can sit in the evening away from the house, surrounded by planting and softscaping. It was designed to feel like its own space within the bigger project.

The softscaping was layered through to bring the whole thing to life. Planting was chosen to suit the Canberra climate and the orientation of the block, with a mix of heights and textures to add depth as it grows in over the seasons.

The whole project was designed and built by our team from start to finish. Same crew on site from the first day of excavation through to the final planting.

The owners went from a tired backyard they barely used to a space they actually want to be in. That's the whole point.

If your outdoor space isn't working for you anymore, it might not need much to change that.

The job isn't done until every plant has had a proper drink.

Before we hand a garden over, we're on site watering, checking, and giving every plant the best possible start. It's one of the final steps, and one of the most important.
A new garden in Canberra has a lot to deal with. Hot dry summers, sharp frosts, soil that doesn't always play nice. Those first weeks are critical. Get the establishment right and the garden takes off.

So we don't just plant and leave. We water it in properly. We check the irrigation is doing what it should. We make sure the soil is settled, the mulch is sitting right, and every plant has what it needs to push roots down before we call the job done.

It's a small thing that says a lot about how we work. One team from design through to the last watering can. No handovers, no "that's not our scope", no chasing a separate maintenance crew to finish what someone else started.

This is Amberfield in Weston Creek. One of the largest projects our team has delivered.

We were brought on to handle the landscaping for LDK's new premium seniors' living village. The scope was significant. Garden beds, pathways, green spaces, retaining structures, and planting across an entire development - not just one backyard, but an entire neighbourhood.

A project like this requires a different level of planning. Every pathway has to connect. Every garden bed has to work with the one next to it. The planting has to make sense at scale - not just look good on day one, but grow into something that feels established and considered over time.

From up here you can see how it all ties together. From ground level, you'd never know how much coordination went into making it feel that effortless.

This is the kind of work our team is built for. The same design-led approach we bring to residential projects, applied at a commercial scale. One team managing the full scope from start to finish.

If you're a developer, builder, or project manager planning landscaping for a multi-dwelling or commercial development in the Canberra region, we'd love to have a conversation.

Most people see the plants. We see what's holding them up.

A good retaining wall does two jobs at once. It manages the slope (and Canberra has plenty of those), and it sets the visual tone for the whole garden.
Get the wall wrong and the planting never quite works. Get it right and everything falls into place.

This one is doing both. Solid build, clean finish, and a planting scheme that brings the whole thing to life.

Got a tricky sloped block? That's our favourite kind of project.

Some projects are bigger than a backyard.

We had the privilege of working on the landscaping at Amberfield, LDK's new premium seniors' living community in Weston Creek.

Soft lines, generous green space, and a sense of arrival that holds its own next to the architecture by Rothelowman.

Landscape design at this scale isn't just about plants. It's about creating spaces that bring people together. Quiet corners for morning coffee. Open lawns for visiting grandkids. Pathways that work for every resident, every day.

A project we're proud to have been part of.

DM us if you're planning something with scale and considered design in mind.
