Our Projex team recently completed refurbishment works to the ACT Legislative Assembly’s public entrance and reception areas, delivered across two carefully staged phases to keep the heritage building operating throughout construction.

Working within an active parliamentary environment required careful planning around the Assembly’s sitting calendar, with noise generating works paused while the Chamber was in session - often for three days at a time.

A key part of the project was relocating the 3.2-tonne steel portal structure and associated Coat of Arms, which now frame the Assembly’s new public entrance. This complex crane lift was completed overnight on London Circuit, right in the heart of Canberra.

The broader refurbishment included extending the footprint of the building and installing a new façade to create an updated public entrance that responds to the Assembly’s evolving security needs. Inside, the works included upgraded security speedstiles, a custom attendant’s desk, new ceiling services and detailed feature parquetry flooring.

The Reception Room was also refreshed with new flooring and updated finishes, creating a more functional and welcoming arrival experience for visitors.

We’re proud to have delivered these works at Canberra’s local parliament. A fantastic result by everyone involved!

A look back at our work at 23 Marcus Clarke Street, where we delivered a 5,500 m² demolition and base building upgrade spanning Basement 1 to Level 4.

At the heart of the project was an eight-flight internal fire egress staircase weighing more than eight tonnes. Getting it into place was no small feat—complex slab modifications, constrained access and installation through the building’s front lobby demanded meticulous planning and precise coordination, all while maintaining access to the ground-floor entry and lifts.

A standout example of what our team does best - solving complex construction challenges and delivering them safely and efficiently.

Things are really coming together at Narrabundah College’s new Design, Arts, Technology and Science building!

Inside, the floors are finished, the walls are painted and the furniture is in. Custom artwork developed in collaboration with Ngunnawal Kamilaroi custodian and cultural director Richie Allen has been carefully installed throughout the building, creating a meaningful connection to Country.

The new spaces will support food technology, hospitality, visual arts, digital media, science and technology, as well as flexible areas for teaching and learning.

With the interior almost complete and landscaping underway, the finish line is in sight. An awesome effort from everyone involved!

Another big week at The Henry!

This stage marks an exciting point in the project, with the main structures nearing completion with only a handful of slabs left to pour across Buildings A and B.

Our team has been hard at work with concrete pours across Buildings B and C, preparation underway for the next pour in Building D, and Building A now pushing further into its upper levels.

Inside, internal works are also gaining momentum, with the basement stripped, pre-sheet complete across Lower A, sheeting underway, and set-out and framing works progressing in Building B.

A strong week of progress from our team as The Henry continues to climb!

Projex is proud to support the Australian War Memorial's Social Club with the donation of a much-appreciated new BBQ. This BBQ will be used regularly for AWM Staff and volunteer events.

Projex was kindly invited to the inaugural use of the new BBQ, which was a great opportunity to connect with the broader AWM team, continuing to strengthen the positive relationships formed during out time on the Development project.

We are grateful to the Australian War Memorial for their kind letter and Certificate of Appreciation acknowledging Projex’s involvement and support in delivering the Main Building Works to date.

A big thank you to the Australian War Memorial, we are glad to see your new BBQ in use and are proud to be involved in such a unique and important project.

We’re excited to have recently commenced a new project for Marymead CatholicCare, delivering a new adaptable/supportive housing dual occupancy in the ACT.

The project will see the existing dwelling and associated structures demolished, making way for the new single-storey homes designed for long-term use and care delivery.

Early works are already progressing well, with demolition and underground services complete, slab preparation underway and the concrete pour scheduled for the end of the week!

We're proud to be part of a project that will support accessible, functional and purpose-built housing for the community.

Ainslie Childcare is beginning to take shape!

With prefabricated wall framing installed and structural steel beams now in place, the project has taken another exciting step forward.

Since commencement, the team has made strong progress across demolition, concrete slab works, underground services and site prep.

Next up, works will continue across roofing, glazing, brickwork, cladding and internal lining as progress continues on site.

Great work by our Projex team - more updates to come. 🙌🏻

We’re excited to share that our very own Charlotte Thompson has been nominated for Construction Woman of the Year at the 2026 Master Builders ACT Excellence Awards!

Over the past four years at Projex, Charlotte has grown into an incredibly capable and respected Contracts Administrator. After beginning her career in accounting, she made the move into construction and has built a strong reputation through her professionalism, determination and willingness to take on every challenge.

Charlotte has played an important role across some of Projex most significant projects, including The Henry and the award-winning Gugan Gulwan Indigenous Youth Centre, where she was involved from tender through to completion and helped coordinate the project’s 5-Star Green Star certification.

Charlotte brings confidence, energy and genuine care to everything she does. She is always willing to support those around her, mentor junior team members and encourage more young women to back themselves and pursue a career in construction.

We couldn’t be prouder of Charlotte. A very well-deserved nomination!
