More architectural inspiration from Denmark.
Half timbered buildings are built around a structural timber frame, traditionally joined with mortise and tenon connections secured by timber pegs rather than nails or screws. It's a construction method that's been used for centuries, creating strong, flexible structures that can move, settle and be repaired over time.
Rather than remaining unchanged, these buildings evolve through generations of maintenance and adaptation. Their leaning walls, bulging facades and crooked lines tell the story of centuries of use, repair and craftsmanship.
