This original 1977 Willemsen home in Farrer is one of those projects that showcases what a truly integrated design and build approach can achieve. Five separate levels, varying ceiling heights and a complex site, the kind of brief that demands respect, precision and a team that can hold the vision from the first sketch through to the final finish.

The clients' vision was clear: a contemporary, spacious, light-filled home with a resort-like quality and a strong connection to the outdoors. Achieving that on a site this layered required careful planning, precise construction and considered decision-making at every stage.

The exterior tells the story first. Painted white brick, new windows, frameless glass balustrades, louvre screening and a new pool position and surround have replaced what was a heavy, dated facade. Inside, the complete transformation is equally considered, a reimagined kitchen with dramatic feature marble and herringbone timber flooring, multi-level living zones flooded with natural light through new skylights, a refined bathroom, ensuite and laundry, and a new balcony with views overlooking the bush capital that makes the most of the home's elevated position.

Every phase of this project was delivered through our integrated design and build service, from initial concept through approvals, construction and final finishes.

Progress is well underway on this renovation and extension in Banks, and the transformation is already taking shape.

Our team has worked through internal demolition of the existing structure, slab preparation, frame stage and sheeting, with the fix, paint and fit off up next. The new master suite extension is coming together beautifully and is at the stage of a project where the design really starts to become real for our clients.

A beautiful renovation and extension in Jerrabomberra that has completely reimagined how this family home functions and feels.

The brief centred on creating generous, connected living spaces that could genuinely accommodate a busy family with a kitchen at the heart of it all. The result is a striking open-plan design where every detail has been considered, from the large island bench with farmhouse sink through to the dark herringbone timber flooring that runs throughout the living areas and creates a bold contrast against the white and black cabinetry.

The kitchen itself is a standout, white shaker cabinetry to the ceiling, a mirror splashback, matte black hardware, stone benchtops and a well-appointed butler's pantry with additional storage, open shelving and a second sink and dishwasher. The adjoining living and dining zones are light-filled and spacious, with the extension delivering a seamless connection to the alfresco area through large sliding doors.

The alfresco designed for year-round entertaining complete with travertine tiles, a feature fireplace and built-in bench creating a relaxed secondary living zone that complements the transformed interior.
