From warm timbers and statement tiles to fresh neutrals, stone, tapware and cabinetry finishes, every project is coming together with its own personality and purpose.

Whether your unit is a much-loved family holiday spot, an investment property, or a little bit of both, thoughtful selections can make a huge difference to how the space looks, feels and functions.

These projects are already in the works and we can’t wait to show you the finished results.

We’re finalists! 🏆

We’re very excited to share that Nyblad Construction has been named a finalist in the 2026 Sunshine Coast Business Awards – Building, Construction & Engineering, Small Business category.

For our family, this recognition means a lot. What started as a small family building business has grown into a team we’re incredibly proud of, supported by some fantastic local trades, suppliers, industry partners and, of course, the clients who continue to trust us with their homes.

Over the past year we’ve continued to refine how we work, invest in our team, strengthen our renovation systems and take on some pretty special projects across the Sunshine Coast. Being recognised alongside other local businesses doing great things in our region is a lovely reminder of how far we’ve come.

A huge thank you to our entire Nyblad team, our subcontractors and suppliers, and every client who has supported us, referred us or welcomed us into their home.

A closer look at our Golden Beach unit renovation ✨

This one started with a very blank canvas. The unit had already been completely stripped when the owners purchased it, so we were able to get straight into rebuilding it into a practical, low-maintenance investment property.

The brief called for something neutral, warm and easy to live in, with plenty of storage packed into a relatively small footprint.

We brought that together with timber-look flooring, white and timber cabinetry, full-height bathroom tiling and custom joinery throughout.

Some of our favourite details in this one include the recessed mirrored shaving cabinet, large linen cupboards in the living area, a genuinely usable laundry nook and a sliding shower screen that avoids taking up valuable bathroom space.

It’s a good example of how much difference thoughtful planning can make in a compact unit. Nothing overly complicated, just smart use of space, practical finishes and a cohesive palette that should work beautifully for years to come.

From stripped back to ready for tenants ✨

When the owners purchased this Golden Beach unit, the hard part had already been started. The unit had been completely stripped out, giving us a blank canvas to bring it back to life as a fresh, practical investment property.

We kept the palette light and neutral with timber-look flooring, crisp white cabinetry and warm timber accents throughout, creating something that will feel current for years to come.

And while this unit might be compact, it definitely isn’t short on storage.

Custom cabinetry was incorporated wherever we could make it work, including large linen cupboards in the living area, a practical laundry nook, plenty of kitchen storage and a recessed mirrored shaving cabinet in the bathroom.

The bathroom was tiled floor to ceiling, with a sliding shower screen rather than a hinged door to make better use of the available space.

The result is a simple, warm and functional little unit where every bit of space has been put to work.

A renovation story that came full circle.

When we first renovated this Alexandra Headland unit in 2024, we completely transformed the interiors. Two years later, we were invited back to give the balcony the same treatment.

And we love this view because it shows exactly what the second renovation achieved.

Looking from the newly finished balcony back into the unit, the two spaces now feel connected rather than separate. Timber-look tiles add warmth underfoot, the custom-built bench seat gives the owners additional seating and clever hidden storage, and the motorised awning makes the balcony far more usable through changing Sunshine Coast weather.

It’s a relatively compact outdoor area, but thoughtful design has turned it into another genuine living space.

One of the things we’ve learnt through years of renovating units is that every square metre counts. Sometimes the biggest difference isn’t adding more space, but making the space you already have work much harder.

Inside in 2024. Outside in 2026. And now it feels like one complete home.

What an incredible night at the AWIC Awards ✨

We are so proud to share that our very own Sanna was named Female Leader of the Year! 🏆

To be recognised among such an inspiring group of women in construction is incredibly special, and we’re very grateful to AWIC for the work they do to celebrate, connect and champion women across our industry.

A huge thank you also to James Hardie sponsor of the Female Leader Award, for supporting and recognising leadership within construction.

While Nyblad Construction didn’t take home the Small Business of the Year award this time, we were genuinely honoured to be named finalists in both categories. Congratulations to the winners and to every finalist alongside us in the Female Leader and Small Business of the Year categories. There was so much talent, experience and passion represented in that room.

More than anything, nights like this are a reminder of just how many incredible people are helping shape the future of our industry. It was wonderful to celebrate with so many familiar faces, meet new ones and be part of such a positive night for construction.

Thank you again to AWIC - Awesome Women in Construction , James Hardie, our fellow finalists and everyone who made the evening such a memorable one.

Back to one of our favourite Alexandra Headland unit renovations.

We first transformed this unit in 2024, creating an interior that has since featured across plenty of our Nyblad marketing. This year, our lovely client invited us back to give the balcony its own transformation.

The existing balcony was functional, but there was so much more potential in this space. We added timber-look tiling, a custom-built bench seat with plenty of hidden storage, and a motorised awning to create a much more comfortable and usable outdoor living area.

And somehow, even photographed on one of the Sunshine Coast’s decidedly less-sunny days, it still looks like the perfect spot to settle in with a coffee and watch the rain.

For us, a great unit renovation has never just been about what happens inside the front door. It’s about making the most of every square metre available and understanding how apartment living, body corporate requirements, access and construction all need to work together.

Two years, two renovations, one very lovely Alexandra Headland unit.
