Shortcuts don’t save time, They move it.
Sharing something that stuck with me.
The idea that shortcuts don’t remove work—they just move it downstream to someone else, usually under worse conditions.

In fieldwork, maintenance, and installations, we see this play out constantly.
The time “saved” upfront usually comes back later as troubleshooting, rework, or someone else having to untangle decisions they didn’t make.
Always leading to higher costs than doing it properly the first time.
It’s a simple idea, but it reframes something important, speed isn’t the same as efficiency if it creates downstream failure.
