Here's an aircon installation from Beerwah. We'd already been out to this home to sort an intermittent fault on the old living room unit, and when it came time to replace it, we put in a Midea Athena 8.0kW reverse cycle split.

It went in back to back, where the old one was. We took the old unit away, reused the existing drain and power, then pressure tested, commissioned and tested the new system before we left.

Did you know: a back to back install puts the outdoor unit on the other side of the wall, directly behind the indoor unit. The pipes go straight through, so the run is short and tidy and there's very little on show outside.

Our go-to split these days is the Midea Athena, and we handle air conditioning across the Sunshine Coast, from Beerwah to Maroochydore, with licensed electricians and refrigeration mechanics in-house.

Wayne in Mooloolaba already had a 9.99kW SolarEdge system on his roof. A few years on, his power bills had crept up from around $60 to around $200, so he asked us about adding a battery.

He didn't need to replace his SolarEdge inverter. We AC-coupled an 18kWh Sigenergy SigenStor battery, with its own 10kW Sigenergy inverter and a Sigenergy Gateway, alongside his existing system so the two work together. The battery sits on a ground mount under a white Colorbond shade cover to keep it out of the weather. Because his home is on an Energex dynamic connection, both systems can stay running together. Our team handled the Energex application and the federal battery rebate paperwork, then tested and commissioned everything before we left.

Did you know: you don't have to pull out a working solar system to add a battery. If your inverter is from another brand, an AC-coupled battery can sit alongside it and store the solar you'd otherwise send back to the grid.

Big news for Queensland EV owners ⚡ Energex and Ergon have changed the connection rules for home EV chargers, and it makes full-speed charging at home a lot simpler.

Here's what's changed:
🔌 A single-phase charger can now be installed and set to the full 32A (around 7.4kW) without a network control device.
🔌 You don't need a controlled tariff to get full charging speed, and there's no network device switching your charger off at peak times.
🔌 Under the old rule, single-phase chargers were held to 20A unless the network could control them.

32A gives you about 60% more charging power than 20A, so an overnight charge goes a lot further, as long as your car can accept 7.4kW.

Got a charger that was set to 20A under the old rule? It may be able to run at 32A once a licensed electrician confirms your wiring and switchboard can take the extra load. Your home's maximum demand and service fuse still need checking, so we look at your switchboard on site before we quote.

Out with the old panels, getting ready for a roof restoration and panel replacement.

This customer was looking to upgrade their system as it was old, underperforming and they were getting big power bills. The old 25-panel system was averaging around 15kWh per day.

After assessing their energy usage and upgrading the system, their new 25-panel setup is now producing around 60kWh per day.

That’s four times the energy production from the same number of panels.
