Our Kenyan Top Bar Hives are crafted from untreated timbers, designed for beekeepers who
want a simple, low-intervention approach to hive management: no frames, no foundation, just
natural comb building the way bees do it best. It also makes the hive more resistant to pests and
disease, such as hive beetles.
The sloped sides and top-bar design mimic the natural shape of a bee colony, making inspections
easier and reducing stress on the hive. It's a favourite for backyard beekeepers and small-scale
producers alike, valued for being gentler on the bees and easier to manage than traditional
Langstroth setups.
Every hive is handcrafted right here in Gordonvale, Far North Queensland. Built to withstand our
tropical climate, sealed with all-natural products, and made to order with care and attention to
detail.
