It is with great sadness that we advise of the recent passing of James Asher

James will be remembered with love by all who knew him and for the many lives he touched throughout his 52 years.

Position Vacant- Diesel Fitter

Asher’s Logging and Transport is seeking a qualified diesel fitter to join our team in the Gympie region. Applicants with experience in harvesting equipment and log trucks will be highly regarded.

About the role:

This position will be based out of our workshop at Toolara and a full time work Ute will be supplied.

You will be responsible for maintaining and servicing John Deere and Komatsu logging equipment—including forwarders, harvesters, skidders, and excavators—as well as Kenworth trucks and Elphinstone trailers.

Asher’s also maintains a large workshop in Caboolture, about one hour and twenty minutes from Toolara, to provide support for major maintenance tasks and general assistance.

Asher’s operates on behalf of HQPlantations, which manages sustainable pine forests projected to last the next eighty-five years. The forest is located directly on the Fraser Coast, with Fraser Island situated nearby.

Duties include:
* Mechanical, Hydraulic and electrical fault finding
* Routine servicing and preventive maintenance
* Performing infield breakdown repairs across plantation sites
* Ensuring safety, compliance and quality standards are met.
* Maintaining accurate service records and job sheets.

What we are looking for:
* Trade qualification
* Experience with heavy diesel engines, hydraulics and diagnostics
* Experience in harvesting machinery and log trucks preferred
* Ability to work independently infield
* Strong commitment to safety and producing high quality work.
* Welding experience highly regarded
