We’ve recently welcomed not one, but two new additions to the Sweeney Group fleet.

Our new Kobelco SK45SR 5-tonne excavator has gone straight to work on a 12-month hire supporting one of our local government clients.

Joining it is our new FWR hydraulic tag trailer, which has also gone straight onto a 12-month hire, providing a dedicated transport solution alongside the plant for the duration of the contract.

Both additions strengthen our ability to support clients with longer-term plant and equipment requirements, alongside our existing wet and dry hire capabilities.

Long-term plant hire is an area we’re continuing to grow, providing clients with reliable plant and equipment for ongoing projects without the commitment of purchasing additional assets.

A special mention to Dean and the entire LiftRite team for the huge effort getting everything across the line. With delays at Fremantle Port and a very tight turnaround to get the machine ready and out to site, there were a few moving parts behind the scenes! We really appreciate everyone who helped make it happen.

Here's the most common drainage issue we see every winter in WA:

Water isn't usually the problem. It's what happens when there's no plan for where it needs to go.

Every winter we see sites impacted by ponding water, soft ground conditions, bogged access routes and erosion around work areas.

Identifying drainage issues early can help maintain site access, reduce downtime and avoid costly rework later in the project.

If you're planning civil, construction or infrastructure works over the coming months, winter is often the best time to assess drainage before it becomes a bigger issue.

Time flyers when your having fun they say

Hi everyone,

Between projects, quotes and EOFY, the milestone nearly slipped past us, but this year marks 10 years since Sweeney Hire was established in 2016.

What started as a small family business has grown into Sweeney Group, supporting civil, mining, earthworks, remediation and landfill projects across Western Australia.

Over the past decade, we've had the privilege of working alongside local governments, contractors, landfill operators, suppliers and industry partners on projects both large and small.

We're incredibly grateful to everyone who has trusted us, supported us and worked alongside us throughout the journey.

While we're not slowing down anytime soon, we did want to take a moment to say thank you!
