Don’t just look for the reasons why you can’t or why you shouldn’t. What about all the reasons why you can and still should??

The decision to build your new home is without a doubt, one of the biggest ones you’ll make in your life. But on the flip side, it is an equally big decision to decide against it, potentially sacrificing future security for your family.

Either way, it’s about ensuring you have all the facts in front of you to make the best possible decision for you and your family.

The Design Distinctive is about providing honest advice and guidance because we only want the best for you, whatever the right answer is for you, right now.

This Mud Room, Pantry and Kitchen lead the way with its highly functional design!

Think - slipping your shoes off as you walk in, popping the shopping bags on the bench top, and an easy unload into the pantry. Plus the wide, open walkway between it all makes it 100x easier to navigate without destroying doors and walls (or your shopping) along the way!

Stayed tuned as we watch it come alive 👀

Have a smaller block, but desperate for that fourth bedroom when Nan and Pop come to stay? Are you yet to find someone to design a plan where that fourth bedroom fits a full sized queen bed?

This design began as a standard 3x2 plan for our clients, adding a fourth bedroom and pumping it up in all the right places to be as functional as possible - every bedroom can comfortably accommodate a queen sized and bedsides!

Always make sure your plans include furniture drawn to scale, so you can measure in real life and make sure it works for you!!

Just a little humour to fill your day..

NB: The answer remains that this is still considered an ‘arch’, despite not being a curve, and is known as a flat, straight, jack or lintel arch. We can blame architectural terminology for that mind-boggle!

Can you build your garage on a retaining wall??
The short answer is yes, you can!

This can help you maximise the width of your block as much as possible and not have to skimp on vital living space within the home!

Many of us get a bit overwhelmed with the amount of detail on a plan, finding it difficult to really visualise what it will look like in real life.

That is where we come in! All you need to do is present your story to show us how you wish to feel when you walk into a particular space and we will create a layout tailored just for you and your family.

[Coming soon: after popular request, our premium 3D interior layout service is on its way to help you make the right decisions to suit you and your family, so stay tuned!]
