🌳 A great season of planting across Busselton!

This year, our team was proud to be involved in the City of Busselton’s Street Tree Planting Program, helping to get hundreds of new trees into the ground across our community.

It’s been rewarding to play a part in a program that will continue to add shade, greenery and character to our streets for many years to come.

A huge thank you to our team for the effort they put in throughout the planting season, and to the project partners who worked alongside us to help bring the program together.

We’ve learned plenty from our first year delivering the program and are looking forward to doing it all again in 2027 - and watching this year’s trees establish and grow! 🌱🌳

💧Every drop counts in the South West! 🌿

Water is one of our most precious resources, and after a particularly dry winter, it's more important than ever to be mindful of how we use it.

As we head into the warmer months, we encourage everyone to take a moment to check their reticulation settings.

🌱 Know your watering days. Busselton Water's two-day watering roster is now in effect.

🌱 Understand your sprinklers. Different sprinklers apply water at different rates. Know how much water your system delivers, how long each station needs to run, and whether you're getting even coverage. Running your sprinklers for longer doesn't necessarily mean a healthier garden!

🌱 Avoid peak demand. We've recently been advised that 6am–7am is a particularly busy period for water use. Where possible, consider scheduling your reticulation outside this hour.

🌱 Check your reticulation. A broken sprinkler, leaking pipe or poorly adjusted system can waste a surprising amount of water.

🌱 Only water when it's needed. Watering days are an allowance, not a requirement! Just because it's your allocated day doesn't mean your garden needs a drink. Check the soil, consider recent rainfall, understand how much water your sprinklers deliver and adjust your watering schedule to suit the weather.

As a contractor, we believe responsible water use is an important part of maintaining healthy, sustainable landscapes.

Our message is simple: water when your garden needs it, not just because the timer says so. 💚

Water efficiency measures are currently in place across Western Australia to help conserve our precious water resources. This includes a permanent watering day roster scheme and a winter sprinkler switch off. Water efficiency measures affect all water users including people who use scheme water, tho...

Stacey had the privilege of attending the 2026 Australian Institute of Horticulture Conference in Adelaide this weekend, and I’m coming away full of ideas after connecting with people across the industry and hearing the stories and journeys of others.

One of the highlights for me was Jeff’s presentation on creating habitats at Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park where horticulture is both a key consideration and a unique challenge. From “zoo poo” and bamboo plantations to rooftop gardens that form part of the guest experience, there were some fantastic examples of innovation.

It also brought to mind my Disney days, running a large guest experience operation with so many moving parts. I loved seeing that intersection of horticulture, operations and guest experience through a completely different lens.

Urban greening was another standout. Having just completed our first year of verge tree planting for local government, listening to Jason from Jason Summers was a real treat. It was a great opportunity to reflect on our recent tree planting work, and I really appreciated his willingness to share the successes, lessons and thinking behind creating urban forests and giving trees their best possible chance to thrive. There’s plenty there to bring back to our own operations and clients.

Likewise, Michael from evergreeninfrastructure provided plenty of ideas and insight into the value proposition of green spaces, summed up perfectly with
“Amenity is desirable. Infrastructure is necessary.”

Safe to say I came home with plenty of photos, plenty of ideas and still plenty more to learn!

There’s far more I could share than will fit into a socials post, so if any of this sparks your interest - plants, people, planet- reach out for a cuppa. Let’s keep the conversation going! 🌿

626 trees planted last week 🌳🪏💪

That’s an average of 125 trees per day, helping create future shade, habitat and greener streets across our community.

A fantastic effort by the team, who spent the week digging, planting, staking, watering and tidying to give every tree the best possible start!

🤓 Fun fact: Once established, the 626 trees planted last week could collectively absorb around 15 tonnes of CO₂ every year, while also providing shade, cooling and habitat for local wildlife.

We’re proud to play a small part in growing the urban canopy, one tree at a time 🌱
