Over the previous few months we have seen significant supply constraints and price increases of solar panels.

The reason why?
- Solar Cells have increased 8-10%
- Supply shortage of materials that make up the solar panel such as: aluminium, tempered glass, backing sheet, junction boxes and copper wire have increased 15%+
- Shipping charges such increased
- Rolling black outs effecting manufacturing industry in China. The 5 largest panel manufacturers production has reduced significantly due to working hour restrictions.
- High international demand

To ensure that we can continue to provide great service and obtain the panels, in the month of November we will have a minor price increase on our standard system. Previously committed prices will remain as quoted.
As always we at Insight Solar are committing to keeping our prices down and quality up.

Q&A - What direction should solar panels face?

When designing and installing a system the placement of the panels needs to be considered to ensure maximum output.

A north facing system with a tilt of 15-30 degrees will generate the maximum power, but thats not always the best option for the client.

A system facing east or west will produce 10-20% less output but an east facing system will produce earlier in the morning and a west facing system later into the afternoon.

The best option for you is highly dependant on your energy usage profile and the available space for the system to be installed.

Q&A - Do solar panels really pay for themselves?

Solar panels pay for themselves over time by producing energy from the sun and reducing your consumption of energy from the electricity grid. When the energy from the panels exceeds your household consumption, the surplus energy is sold back to the energy retailer (feed in tariff). In Western Australia, a 6.6kW solar PV system can pay for itself in as little as 2 years.

For a detailed summary on how quickly a PV system can pay for itself on your property please contact us either via messenger or phone 0433473674
