Artefacts, light, and everyday rituals shape the atmosphere of these interiors. Existing rooms are gently opened up to bring in more daylight and create a softer connection between spaces, while original details remain woven throughout the home.

Framed views, layered thresholds, and moments of display turn the house into a backdrop for the lives and collections of its owners - a space that feels personal, lived-in, and quietly evolving over time.

Take a walk with Jeremy through our pop-up low carbon and circular materials library - part of Melbourne Design Week which was hosted last week. Designed as a tactile and immersive experience, the space invited visitors to explore a curated selection of materials that seek to transform a high-emissions industry into part of the climate solution — encouraging conversation around design, sustainability and the role of materials in an ethical design practice.

From beautiful timber reconstituted from scraps, or jeans turned into insulation
panels, to plastic waste from the sea turned into high performance bricks, the installation offered a hands on look into the thinking behind contemporary material selection and making design do better.

Dark, tactile materials and clean architectural lines shape the interiors of Tinderbox House. Charred finishes, warm timber, and exposed steel create a calm, grounded atmosphere - balancing the raw character of the warehouse with softness and light.

Layered textures and carefully framed openings bring depth to each space, turning everyday moments into something quietly cinematic.

Biophilia is our natural, human connection to nature. A passion for life that begins in childhood, where we crave the textures of tree bark and the sensation of the outdoors. But as we grow, much of that connection fades.

Talina Edwards speaking at the Architects Declare event at Breathe, explores how biophilia isn’t just about what we see, but about the sensory experiences we engage with. It’s about embracing the seasons, changes, and the emotions that nature stirs in us. 🌿
