Bayside Automatic Gates is a small but highly reputable automatic gates business based on the Northern Beaches, an opportunity currently exists for an experienced fabricator to join our team on a permanent basis.

Primary Responsibilities:

Fabricate directly from drawings, samples or instructions without supervision
Provide general assistance in all areas of manufacturing and installation as required
Cut materials to specified requirements minimizing waste
MIG and TIG welding
Prioritise time to ensure expediency of output whilst maintaining quality standards
Set up, calibrate and maintain equipment, machinery and tools as needed
Work in a team environment
Follow applicable OH&S regulations
General housekeeping duties
Undertake training and other duties as required


Essential skills and experience required:

Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade
Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
Experience in gate fabrication preferable
High attention to detail
Ability to read and interpret plans
Strong measuring skills
Reliability, trustworthy and dependable
Right to work in Australia
Excellent communication skills
Computer literate – CAD experience highly beneficial

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Read and interperet drawings
- Conduct site set out for installation of gates and fencing
- Identify installation issues on site before they arise and deal with them accordingly
- Core drilling and concreting posts
Ensuring posts and gates are installed straight and level
- Handle products safely to ensure they are not damaged
- Loading/unloading of gates onto truck and delivering to site
- Installation of automation equipment and programming
- Ensure client's properties are kept clean and tidy
- Supervise and train your labourer as required
- Follow applicable OH&S regulations

Skills and Experience:

- Minimum 5 Years experience in a similar role as a leading hand
- Electrical licence or restricted electrical licence highly regarded
- OHS Construction induction Card (White / Green Card)
- Full Drivers Licence (Manual)
- Excellent communications skills
- Experience with clients and making decisions on the spot
- Experience with installation of automatic gate / garage / door operators

We’ve been flat out this year so needed to hire some more staff, meet our new site supervisor Snoop!
What he lacks in experience, he makes up for in personality!
We’re now fully booked until January for new fabrication work and Snoop is really looking forward to sinking his teeth into it! (Which I’m pretty excited about because his teeth are razor sharp and my hands can do with a break! 😂)

Today’s the end of an era for us here at Bayside Gates, this was the very last job we fabricated in the factory we’ve been in for the past 3 years!
The space was small and restrictive sometimes, but we knocked out some awesome gates in here!
Looking forward to getting the new factory setup ASAP to get ready for the Xmas rush! 🎅

A horizontal aluminium slat sliding gate and FAAC C720 we recently completed in Manly.
The slats were set against each other without a gap for privacy, with vertical supports for the slats set at the rear, it gives the front a very clean look and sets off this house up on the Bower perfectly!
We integrated the existing intercom system and access control devices with the new automation system giving the family the ability to open the gate a multitude of ways!
Another happy client! ✅
