This fox came in to a call and sat up roughly 220m away, with a lambing paddock nearby that was close enough!

Conservation never looked so good!

With our main fox rifle out of action, I moved our new pulsar trail 2 XP50 thermal scope to our Australian made .308 with deer and pigs on this property, after a quick zero check off we went for the night.

The best part of a hundred rabbits which is the most we've seen for some time, half a dozen foxes and this fox shot freehand!

We'll save the venison for next time!

Feral ditch tiger down!
This tomcat was up in a tree stump, very healthy and heavy, it's not a fox although the damage feral cats do to native wildlife is incredible... Conservation might knot always be what you think!

Who else got some rifle time on the weekend?
Ran some new .308 pills with some decent field results and trialled the new Night Tech MS-42 thermal.

Few weeks ago I had a hunting mate ask us to look over a farm that he'd been hunting on for years and unable to get this fox to sit long enough for a safe shot to be taken underlight without hiding... So we loaded the thermal topped rifle and the tracking dog into the ute and within 5mins of arriving this battle of 3 years was stopped. Beating this fox at his own hide & seek game!

The farmer got wind of this successful endeavour from our thermal and has asked if we can come back with a program. The price of lambs at the moment makes sense to protect your income with thermal contract shooting - it'll help you save money and more importantly stock & wildlife!
