A fantastic night for a great cause at the recent Nawic Qld Trivia Night! CV proudly sponsored the event in support of TIACS.

It was great to see our team representing CV, connecting with industry peers and supporting the important work both Nawic Qld and TIACS do in our industry and community.

To top off the evening, one of our CV teams took out first place for the second year running!

The deciding moment? A surprisingly tricky question about leap years. Our team was the only one in the room to get it right. Turns out years divisible by 100 aren’t leap years unless they’re also divisible by 400. Definitely one for the trivia bank!

Congratulations to everyone in the CV team who helped continue the winning streak. We’re already looking forward to next year!

We're proud to see our CV Fire Protection team recognised by McNab with a safety award for their proactive approach to safety on site.

By identifying and addressing safety concerns, the team helped improve conditions not only for CV's wet and dry fire crews, but for all workers on site. Their actions reflect the safety culture we're committed to building at CV – one where our people feel comfortable to speak up and raise concerns, and where we all look out for one another to ensure everyone goes home safe.

It's great to see these efforts acknowledged, and we thank the team for continuing to make a positive impact on the project.

At CV, we know that strong safety outcomes come from far more than procedures and compliance. They come from people sharing observations, speaking up, learning from one another and staying curious about better ways of working. Recently, Electrical Safety Fortnight gave us another opportunity to do exactly that.

Here's what we got up to during Electrical Safety Fortnight:

🔹 Test Board Demonstration – We hosted Infinispark at our Hendra head office to showcase training equipment designed to provide safe, realistic fault-finding and testing scenarios for our electrical workers.

🔹 Electrical Safety Summit – Members of CV's safety and leadership teams attended the industry event to hear the latest insights, challenges and developments in electrical safety.

🔹 Electrical Supervision Workshops – We brought our electrical supervisors together to explore advanced testing solutions and discuss updates to Queensland's Electrical Safety Regulations.

🔹 Electrical Apprentice Safety Forum – CV apprentices attended a powerful presentation from Theo Venter, an arc flash survivor, who shared the importance of trusting your instincts, speaking up when something doesn't feel right and never letting convenience outweigh safety.

🔹 HSE Observation Competition – We ran a competition encouraging our electrical workers to submit observations, helping us identify hazards, recognise good work and share learnings that could prevent future incidents.

The best safety improvements often start with a conversation, an observation or someone asking a question. Creating opportunities for our people to learn, share experiences and challenge the way we've always done things is an important part of how we continue to strengthen electrical safety across CV.

CV's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Group recently came together for its second meeting and our first opportunity to connect in person.

The session was an important step in our reconciliation journey, bringing together passionate team members from across our business to discuss meaningful actions that will help drive positive outcomes for First Nations peoples, communities and businesses.

With guidance from Michael Grundon, discussions focused on strengthening relationships with First Nations communities, increasing cultural awareness and understanding across CV, creating employment and business opportunities, and ensuring we remain accountable through measurable actions and reporting.

We were also proud to wear our Purple Army shirts during the meeting. More than just a shirt, they represent a shared commitment to raising awareness and supporting Indigenous communities impacted by domestic and family violence through the BLAQ Diamonds Women Empowerment, Challenge DV and gawunsupplies partnership.

Reconciliation is built through listening, learning, respect and action. We're excited to continue this journey together and turn these conversations into meaningful outcomes.

The appointment of Tony Foster as General Manager – Infrastructure Engineering reflects CV's continued focus on strengthening our engineering capability to meet the changing needs of customers and projects across Australia.

Recently, members of our Brisbane team, including project managers, estimators and field team members, attended the Peggy's Place Lunch with Heart Fundraiser. The event helps raise funds and awareness for Peggy's Place, a not-for-profit dedicated to supporting women and children experiencing domestic and family violence through safe accommodation and tailored support services.

We were proud to support such a meaningful organisation while connecting with valued clients and industry partners who share a commitment to making a positive difference in our community. It was an inspiring afternoon that reinforced the impact we can have when industry and community come together to support the vital work Peggy's Place does in helping those who need it most.

The appointment of Warrick Payne as General Manager – Infrastructure Major Projects reflects CV's commitment to investing in the leadership, expertise and capability required to support this growth.

With extensive experience delivering major infrastructure projects, Warrick will lead a team focused on driving strong customer outcomes, managing project complexity and strengthening trusted partnerships across the industry.

This year, Team CV hit the pavement in record numbers, with our biggest-ever team joining 40,000 participants in the 30th anniversary of the Bridge to Brisbane fun run.

From runners chasing personal bests to walkers simply soaking up the atmosphere, it was fantastic to see so many of our people coming together to support one of Brisbane’s most loved community events.

What we enjoy most about days like this isn't just crossing the finish line. It's the opportunity to connect with teammates, prioritise our wellbeing, get active and be part of something bigger than ourselves. With more than $900,000 raised for charities this year, the event shows the incredible impact communities can make when they come together.

At CV, we believe strong teams are built both in and out of the workplace. Supporting health, wellbeing and meaningful community involvement is an important part of our culture, and seeing our team take part is something we're incredibly proud of.
