It’s been roughly 20 years since I last personally did stamped concrete — so when we got the opportunity to take on this job, I was genuinely excited to get back into it.
My last memories of stamped concrete were working alongside an amazing boss and mentor who taught me so much about the trade, running a business, and most importantly, family values. Doing this job brought back a lot of great memories.
For this project, we removed the old pavers and rocks and re-formed the areas ready for the new pour. The front entry was transformed with a stamped finish, while the rear section underneath the stairs — previously unusable — was given a whole new purpose.
We finished the concrete with a stamp pattern and then reused the old pavers to create a border, tying everything together.
The clients were absolutely wrapped with the result, and honestly, we think it looks amazing. 👌
It’s a shame stamped concrete has become somewhat phased out because it’s such a great option for residential concreting. It can create the look and feel of a premium finish while being a cost-effective alternative to exposed aggregate or a pour-and-hone finish.
A great way to transform an outdoor space and create something that’s practical, durable and looks the part.
Would love to see stamped concrete make a comeback!
