DUPLEX DEVELOPMENT- EASTERN HEIGHTS, QLD
Creating two sub-tropical inspired duplexes on this 607m2 site in Eastern Heights Ipswich made sense to the owner who currently has a two bedroom and one bathroom 1950’s house on the site.
CM Architects designed each of the two storey dwellings with low maintenance and relaxed living in mind. They each have an accessible bedroom and bathroom on the lower level and we elevated the living rooms and two other bedrooms to gain maximum light and ventilation.
Large sliding stacking doors behind white arched screens open just in front of glass balustrades to provide an open and airy yet compact space with high raked ceilings.
They dwellings are oriented differently to provide visual privacy while still accessing eastern and northern light and ventilation to the living areas.
Downstairs there is a screened outdoor living area that acts as a second living room and a very attractive space on a warm Queensland summer afternoon, with these spaces opening to private compact lawn and gardens to provide a green haven after a hard days work with minimal maintenance required.
These three bedroom three bathroom homes offer flexibility for either a family or three renters sharing the house, providing great return on investment for the owner who intends to build and hold the properties.
