Most scaffold covers stop an impact if it lands square on the grid. Drop a length of rebar between grid sections, though, and a lot of products aren't strong enough to catch it.

One roll of mesh. Multiple jobs. That's the real comparison.
A cheaper roll that degrades under UV and comes down in tatters at the end of one job gets binned — and re-bought — for the next. Do that three or four times across a year of work and you've bought three or four rolls.

Most impact testing on encapsulation mesh gets done at the minimum the standard allows. Ours didn't.
ConstructAmesh was independently certified at a 60 kg impact mass — double the 30 kg required under the current Interim AS1576.7 standard. We've also passed the AS 1530.2 flammability index test, and separately, the NFPA 701 flame propagation standard.
We didn't test to scrape past the line. We tested to know exactly where the line actually breaks.
If you're sourcing encapsulation mesh, ask your supplier what mass their product was tested at. Then ask to see the certificate.
