DIY Affordable Cactus Potting Mix 🌵🪴

You don’t need an expensive specialty mix to keep your cacti happy! Create your own well-draining blend using:

🌱 Organic compost soil
🪵 Pine bark
🏖️ Coarse sand
🤍 Perlite

The key? Good drainage! Cacti don’t like sitting in wet soil, so a loose, airy mix helps excess water drain away and keeps those roots happy.

✂️ Prune any crossing, damaged or crowded branches

A regular trim to your Lily Pilly is the secret to a lush, healthy hedge.

✂️ Trim new growth to encourage a thicker, fuller plant.

🌱 Don't over-prune - remove no more than one-third of the plant at a time.

☀️ Prune during the growing season (spring through to early autumn) and avoid heavy pruning during extreme heat or frost.
