I'm a firm believer that all aspects of existence can be a canvas for cureativity. As a sculptor and a lover of growing my own food I’ve choose to experiment with landscape to develop it as a new/old medium to explore new/old themes. Many of our cites are built on fertile land that is simple left as lawn or concrete. Just 50 years ago the suburban matrix was producing much more of the food we woul

d eat & the lives we live. Through curating land art : foodscape projects I would like to re-curate a new model for how this Brave New World is for all of us.

After an unprecedented week in national politics, there was an equally momentous event for a man who has been the voice every Prime Minister listens to on election night since his internship at the ABC began in 1989. Here's to and all those like him who hold facts in the highest regard and approach their judgments with utmost care. Without Antony's call, how will we determine the winner?

Former Australian prime ministers across the political divide pay tribute to Antony Green, the ABC's chief elections analyst who presented his final election last night and will soon retire.

As a lifelong enthusiast of live music and the happiness they bring to everyone involved, it’s thrilling to witness this emerging concept that tackles rising living expenses by some major figures. If we don't provide upcoming musicians the opportunity to earn a fair income from their art, then prominent artists like and might be the last generation we ever experience in an intimate, dimly-lit venue.

Remarkable imagery is beginning to surface, showcasing the floodwaters in the Channel Country of southwestern Queensland as they gradually make their way toward Kati Thanda (Lake Eyre). The dynamic perspective from the website vividly illustrates the significant transformation that has occurred over the past month. This is one of the noticeable impacts of our ever-evolving climate, which we are all adapting to. It will be intriguing to observe in the coming months the influence this influx of water will have upon reaching its final destination.

Abundant rain in Queensland overfilled rivers, flooded towns, and submerged livestock grazing lands.

For several years, I have been a dedicated supporter of Madelaine's eggs located in the Macedon Ranges of Victoria, Australia. What began as a homeschooling activity has blossomed into a successful free-range egg business under Madeline’s guidance. Now, the venture is expanding into pasture-raised turkeys. I strongly advocate for diversifying sustainable business models and believe that choosing a turkey for this Easter is a practical means of supporting innovative strategies to enhance land use in our country.

We are thrilled to announce that we are now accepting deposits for Easter turkeys! Each turkey will weigh between 3.5 and 5 kg when finished. The price is set at $37.50 per kilo. To place your order, simply put down a $100 deposit, and the remaining balance will be due upon pickup from The Farm or t...

Why do we exist? This age-old question isn't one that can be adequately answered in a brief, engaging post like this. However, I believe the efforts being made in Tasmania by at provide significant insight into addressing this profound inquiry.

In the middle of Tasmania sits a 5,000-hectare property once used for sheep grazing. But when the sheep farmers left, an unlikely buyer moved in.

As we start to "bounce back" from Cyclone Alfred here in Brisbane, I am reminded with humility that my role as a landscape architect often involves preparing the groundwork for what follows. The recent opening of B**g Yarnda (Lake Tyres) to Bass Strait in Victoria further underscore our position as just a part of a larger ecosystem.

The Lake Tyers sandbar has naturally opened to the ocean for the first time since 2016, enthralling a cavalry of curious onlookers keen to witness the awe of Mother Nature’s spectacle.

It's uplifting to witness more narratives like the one below emerging about how we choose to acknowledge the land we inhabit. Understanding is empowering, and by being receptive to diverse information sources, we can gain a deeper insight into how to sustain this environment for future generations.

Cattle grazier and head of Climate Friendly’s soil projects, Chris Main, has a vision for his family’s property near Cootamundra in central west NSW. By changing the way he manages the land, Chris aims to restore the original creeks and swamps that existed pre-settlement.

Our Story

My name is Alanjohn R Jones, during the day I'm a mild mannered landscape architect & at other times I’m a passionate adventurer of life. As a sculptor and a lover of growing my own food I’ve chosen to experiment with my backyard & develop it as an urban farm. Many of our cites are built on fertile land that is simple left as lawn or concrete. Just 50 years ago most of our suburban backyards where producing much of the food we would eat. Through this project I would like to create a new model of food production that reinvents this ideal. Through this page & my Instagram I’d like to share my journey & learning’s & hopefully connect with other like-minded people.
