The Elite Refrigeration team has recently completed a major upgrade and rebuild project involving an ultra-low blood storage room, along with a complete pull-down and rebuild of another large-format ultra-low room and 2°C storage room.
This project delivered several critical design requirements, all successfully achieved, including:
- -37°C operating setpoint
- Individual evaporator control using electronic expansion valves
- Alternating hot gas defrost cycles to maintain stable room temperatures
- Polyurethane-filled PVC pipework insulation for long-lasting installation durability
- N+1 redundancy with automatic changeover for high temperature and fault alarms on large rooms
- Installation of Carel MPX Control and full integration back to the Carel Boss monitoring system
- lighting and Electrical systems designed to suit these operating temperatures
The condensing units were custom-built 2-stage Bitzer rack systems featuring:
- Water-cooled condensers
- Economisers
- VSD control
- Carel Rack Controls
A special thank you to everyone involved in delivering this project. The result is a testament to the skill, commitment, and collaboration of the entire Elite Refrigeration team.
We’d also like to extend our sincere thanks to Bitzer, Carel and Beijer for their patience, technical expertise, and ongoing support throughout the project.
