John established Carter Perspective to fill a market gap of responsive building design. His aim is to build and maintain a strong relationship with his clients by providing prompt and professional service, quality bespoke and sustainable designs. Using 3d design software he creates realistic concepts and perspective drawings that helps clients obtain a clear understanding of how their finished project will look and better communicates to authorities or certifiers the merit of each proposal. John has many years of experience in development and building approvals, building design process, building inspection and project delivery in both local government and the private sector.

Existing Conditions plans are a valuable resource when planning a renovation, refurbishment or extension where plans cannot be located or are simply older building works. I can undertake a site inspection and audit of works including 3D Laser scan of existing building and site conditions, documenting to scale existing works and providing you with a set of existing conditions plans, elevations and site plan.

This house is one that i am very proud of. It was built on a somewhat unusual piece of land which required some clever design to maximise space and light. This is a great example of a client who put their trust in me the designer to design a unique piece of architecture.

With a simple set of requirements for example number of bedrooms, lifestyle, land size etc and the clients style a designer can focus on quality design including visual appeal, orientation, energy efficiency & budget.

Today I dropped in on a house I designed in Yea, which is being built by my Dad (81) and 2 of my brothers. The owners are really happy with the house. Its not lost on me that in the weird couple of years we have all had, this is a pretty cool thing.

Its crucial when designing for a client that the design suits that persons needs, style and way of life.
This particular client had a love of older, federation style buildings but wanted the comforts of todays new builds.
Getting it right can make such a difference to a persons life!
