A 1956 Velocette - a name we have to admit we’d never come across before. A nice bit of British motorcycle history getting some attention.

Kawasaki 1000 1981 parts in for restoration. Various methods have been used to bring these parts back. Some received sandblasting others laser cleaning or vapour blasting and some required a combination of these methods. I think you’ll agree that they all came up really well.

1978 Yamaha Frame – Sandblasted

Another old one stripped back and ready for a fresh start. This 1978 Yamaha frame, swingarm and springs came in for sandblasting to remove years of rust, paint and grime, leaving clean bare metal ready for refinishing.

SANDBLASTING – WHAT DO WE DO?

When people think sandblasting, they often think big industrial jobs — sheds, containers, heavy steel and large structures.

That’s not really where we specialise.

Our sandblasting equipment is specifically designed for smaller, more detailed and more sensitive work, giving us much greater control over the blasting pressure and its impact on the surface.

So what do we blast?

🔹 Wheels and alloy components
🔹 Panels, brackets and suspension parts
🔹 Machinery and engine components
🔹 Restoration and vintage parts
🔹 Aluminium items and boats
🔹 Even timber and other more sensitive surfaces
🔹 Right through to complete vehicle chassis and boats around 4.5m

It’s not that we can’t blast bigger items — once you get beyond that sort of size, commercially orientated blasting equipment designed to cover large areas quickly is generally going to be a more economical choice.

Our specialty is the jobs where control matters just as much as getting the coating, corrosion or grime off.

A bit of muscle 💪 in today with some vision problems 👀
These Mustang headlights had seen some better days, with the lenses (especially the drivers side) badly hazed and deteriorating - not just affecting light output, but really letting down an otherwise great looking car.
A full restoration makes a big difference to both visibility and appearance.

These alloy rims came in for sandblasting, but with softer alloys we don’t want to dwell too long in one area trying to remove heavy coatings and risk unnecessary damage to the surface.

For this job, we’re using the laser first to remove the bulk of the coating, followed by a very light sandblast to give the surface the profile needed for recoating.

Sometimes the best result isn’t about choosing one process — it’s about using the right combination of processes for the job.
