👇Early Spring has arrived” ☘️

✅ Early September is the time of year you should apply a pre-emergent herbicide to warm-season grasses such as Kikuyu, Couch and Buffalo Lawns.

✅ Invisible w**ds lie dormant in the soil and wait for warmer weather. Stopping w**ds before they start is much easier than pulling or spraying them later which will save you time and money.

“PREVENTION IS KEY”
⭐️ What should I do?

⭐️ Ensure your mower blades are nice and sharp and and give your lawn its first light mow on a higher setting.
⭐️ Mowing and clearing away excess grass clippings or lawn debris helps the pre-emergent reach the soil surface directly.
⭐️ Time the application of pre-emergent herbicide before w**d seeds germinate.
You want the chemical barrier active before the soil warms up and summer w**ds awaken
⭐️ Water in application (10-20mm) to properly activate .

Tip: 💡
Hold off on the fertilising for now!
Once the turf comes out of dormancy and needs regular mowing that will be the time to start fertilising.
This will ensure the grass can actually absorb the nutrients.

🥶 Winter is here, time to slow down. 🍃

Lawns such as Couch, Kikuyu and Buffalo are warm season grasses so as the cooler temperatures set in, your lawn will grow much slower and go into semi-dormancy.

Tips for Winter Care 💡 🍃

✅ Raise your mower blades by a notch or two to keep the leaf blades taller. This will help catch more sunlight and protect the root system.

✅ In the winter months, water your lawn every few weeks if we haven’t had any rainfall and the soil is dry.
Morning watering is recommended.

✅ Control any cold weather winter w**ds. 🌾
Catching w**ds early and removing them will prevent them from flowering and dropping seeds for the following year.
