One of the most common questions we get asked is: how do houses get raised?

While the jacks, steel beams and lifting equipment do the heavy lifting, one of the most fascinating parts of the process happens once the house is in the air.

After reaching the required height, the team can make fine adjustments to position the home exactly where it needs to sit. In some cases, bars of soap are even used to help reduce friction and assist with moving the house across steel beams.

What looks straightforward from the street is actually a highly skilled process requiring precision, planning and experience.

One of the coolest parts of this project is seeing two completely different styles come together.

We've kept the original pre-war character home and paired it with a modern extension featuring off-form concrete and brickwork.

The contrast works beautifully, and it's all coming together exactly as planned.
