Last Thursday, had the pleasure of sponsoring and attending the 2025 Master Builders Association of Victoria Industry Breakfast at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
There was close to 300 industry professionals who came together to discuss some of the key challenges and opportunities that will shape Victoria’s future with a clear focus on delivering smarter, stronger and more sustainable outcomes for the state.
The morning featured excellent keynote presentations from Jonathan Spear and Lucinda Hartley, followed by a panel discussion with Jordan Kraiten, Matt Perrott and Dr. Corrie Williams. The conversations sparked meaningful discussion on issues that continue to impact both the building industry and the broader community.
Some of the key points that stood out:
* The projected need for 1.3 million new homes in Victoria by 2055
* The real emotional and financial pressure the current housing market is placing on younger Australians
* The continuing conversation around replacing stamp duty with a land tax model
* The reminder that genuine reform often feels challenging before progress becomes visible
A big thank you to the Master Builders Association of Victoria team, CEO Michaela Lihou, President Geoff Purcell, the speakers, panel, and everyone who attended for making the event a great success.
It was a valuable morning of ideas, connection and collaboration and we look forward to continuing the conversation as we work together to build Victoria’s future.
