Humidity checked every minute. Alerted within about 2 minutes.

I've just upgraded these old BaleTime units, and they're now ready for the new BaleTime app for datalogging, charts and settings.

The yellow unit is 7 years old and belongs to John Cole in Forbes, NSW. The orange ones are 10 years old and belong to Joe and Mat Kane in Gredgwin, Vic.

Built for the paddock:
- Two humidity sensors on cables, well away from the box, because heat held in a box affects the readings
- A flagpole that extends to 2 metres, so you can spot it in the hay
- Reflective tape on the sensors
- A flashing light you can switch on and off by SMS, so you can find it at night

Designed and built in Boort, Victoria by Leersen Electronics. Family-owned, since 2015.

A quick heads up: please don't mix up BaleTime with other hay monitors.

I've recently spoken to farmers who thought they were buying a BaleTime but ended up with a different product. BaleTime is designed and built in Boort, Victoria by Leersen Electronics, and it's family-owned.

One big difference: BaleTime has two humidity sensors on cables, away from the box, and averages the readings. Hay is baled on averages.

If you're not sure what you're buying, check the name and give me a call or message. I'm happy to help. - Gavin Leersen 0400903993

I'm here for the hay. And I'm here for you.
Use your own SIM and there's no subscription, or choose the BaleTime plan.

Something worth knowing: a box soaks up heat and can be slow to follow the weather.

Hay is a natural sun shield, and a windrow lets the air move through it. So I put my sensors away from the box, on cables. One in the hay for the day, one outside it for the night.

Hay is baled on averages, so BaleTime gives you the average of both, not a single reading.

Change settings by SMS, or use the app for datalogging, charts and settings.

Built for Ronny in Kerang. Built for Australia. Built for the world.

Come and see the new version of BaleTime at Elmore Field Days β€” Site 499, Oct 6–8. 🚜

Have a look at the app I built. I think it's going to change the way people look at water and hay. πŸ“²

And guess what β€” it's still smart enough to SMS you even if the cloud's down. πŸ’ͺ

Don't want the app? That's fine, turn it off. πŸ‘
