If you’re after a clay hardy, bird and insect friendly screening shrub that can handle the wet and drought conditions Leptospermums are such a great choice. Cardwell is a one of the best in my opinion. Light tip pruning helps to keep a dense shape and ensuring maximum sun conditions will help keep pests away. Often I find leptos planted in too much shade will experience big bouts of webbing caterpillar of scale attack. The more sun the happier they are!
