The latest Good Lawn Guide from Buchanan Turf is out!

We put these guides together to take some of the guesswork out of looking after your lawn. Rather than generic lawn advice, we base them on what we're actually seeing here on the farm and around the Hunter - because what your lawn needs depends a lot on our local conditions and the time of year.

🌱 FUN FACT FRIDAY 🌱

Have you driven past the farm lately and noticed some of our paddocks are looking a little... purple?

The turf isn't dying, it's actually just it's winter coat! During winter, we deliberately let our turf grow a little longer than usual. When we get a good frost, it's those longer leaf tips that take the brunt of it, causing the purple/brown colour you can see across the paddock.

When you buy turf from us, we mow just before harvest to take off that frost affected growth and reveal the greener turf underneath. So while our paddocks might look a little worse for wear after a frosty Hunter Valley morning, the turf underneath is doing just fine.

We've tried for weeks to do a "Meet the Team" post for Bruce but he refuses to participate. (See comments for my latest attempt).

Bruce is an expert at dodging the camera, but he's finally been caught in action unloading another delivery. Shout out to Green Envy Landscape & Garden Services for the footage - though this is likely as much screen time as we're going to get!

If you really want to meet the famous Bruce, you'll just have to order some turf. 🌱🚛

(Fair warning: he's every bit as lovely as everyone says he is.)
