We were recently invited onto The Good Builder Podcast () to talk about solar, batteries and where energy is heading for Australian builders and new homes.

Our owner, Gary Higgins, sat down with Aaron to discuss why we believe solar should be considered much earlier in the building process - not simply added to a home after construction is complete.

They covered everything from commercial solar and large multi-residential projects through to solar and battery systems for new homes, EV charging provisions, warranties and the importance of planning ahead.

For builders, getting us involved early means we can work alongside the construction process, hide conduits, plan equipment locations and deliver a much cleaner finished installation. It also means solar can become part of the overall offering to the homeowner rather than an afterthought.

Another quality commercial solar project completed by Halcol Energy at Kyma, Currimundi.

This installation features 70 Canadian Solar 475W panels and 5 Sungrow 5kW inverters, providing five separate solar systems for the development.

Rather than relying on one shared system, each owner has their own dedicated solar generation - giving them greater control and the opportunity to reduce their individual reliance on the grid.

The 33.25kW installation was completed on a concrete roof using black Schletter mounting rail for a clean, considered finish.

Halcol Energy works with builders, developers and commercial property owners across the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane to design solar solutions around the specific requirements of each project.

Tesla Powerwall 3 Is Now Compatible With Powerwall 2

Tesla has introduced an important update for existing Powerwall 2 owners, with Powerwall 3 now able to operate alongside Powerwall 2 through the latest firmware release.

This means eligible homeowners can add a Powerwall 3 to an existing Powerwall 2 system, increasing their available battery storage without needing to replace the original battery.
