😂 AI got a little carried away with this one!

When you tell the AI: “Show people why preparation, protection and attention to detail matter in painting…” and it decides to create an entire painting apocalypse. 😂🎨

Thankfully, not every painter works like the bloke on the right! 🤣

At Paragon Painting & Maintenance, we’re definitely more on the Clean & Tidy side — protecting your home, getting the prep right, clean straight cuts and leaving the place looking better than we found it. 👌

Although… I’m pretty sure the dog on the right has some explaining to do. 🐶😂

Bringing old timber back to life 🌿

This aged, silvered timber was given a full restoration — thoroughly cleaned, chemically treated and sanded to rejuvenate the timber before applying CUTEK CD50 decking oil.

This is a prime example of why regular timber maintenance is so important. A maintenance coat can dramatically reduce the labour, preparation and products required compared with letting the timber weather to this stage and then needing a full restoration.

The right maintenance at the right time can save a lot of time and cost in the long run.

It’s the fine details that take the time — carefully cutting in around edges, keeping the lines straight and getting a clean finish.

💡 Painting tip: When rolling bright or deep colours, keep your roller moving consistently in one direction for the final passes. Rolling in multiple directions can leave an inconsistent finish, especially once the paint dries.

Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference.

Another quality ceiling restoration completed by Paragon Painting & Maintenance.

This project involved rectifying an uneven, poorly painted ceiling for the customer and as part of an insurance repair. A damaged section of ceiling was replaced with new insulation and plaster, professionally finished, and repainted to leave a smooth, clean result that blends seamlessly with the home.
Not everything is able to be removed dust free however we certainly do try to implement dust free systems as much as possible

It would be great to see the standards across the industry continue to rise.

Even the current Australian standards can still allow work that simply should not be accepted as quality workmanship. Turning up to jobs and seeing finishes like this treated as “normal” is disappointing — especially when this is already rectification work. You should have seen what it looked like beforehand.

As tradespeople, we should all be aiming higher, taking pride in our work, and leaving the next trade with a clean, straight, professional finish to work with.

The last photo shows what an internal corner should look like straight after application — not even sanded yet. Proper preparation, attention to detail, and experience make all the difference in the final result.

Raising standards benefits everyone — the trades, the clients, and the industry as a whole.

One thing we strongly believe is that the trades before us should not set the standard for our work. As you can see in the last photos this new plaster work is definitely not suitable or ready for painting so we carefully check all plaster works prior to help ensure the finished walls are as smooth as possible. Attention to detail at the early stages makes a huge difference to the final result.
