In custom building, no two homes are ever the same.
Sometimes the best outcomes come from solving problems you couldn’t predict.

On this project, unexpected groundwater meant we had to rethink the standard approach and engineer an underslab drainage solution to protect the home long term. This secondary drainage system works in conjunction with the retaining walls and ensures the natural groundwater flow continues safely to the street.

It’s not always about following the plan — it’s about having the experience to adapt when conditions change and require a performance-based solution.

The details most people never see are often the ones that matter most.

Meet Charlie — our first year apprentice and one of the best decisions we’ve made this year.

From day one, Charlie has shown up with a smile, a willingness to get stuck in, and a hunger to learn that makes the whole team better. Watching him grow his skills on site has been genuinely one of the highlights of the year so far.
Carpentry is a trade you earn — and Charlie is earning it the right way.

Our industry is facing a real skills shortage, and the only way through it is for experienced and responsible builders to step up and invest in the next generation.

Taking on an apprentice is a big deal — it’s a responsibility we take seriously. Charlie deserves to finish his apprenticeship as a well-rounded, highly skilled tradesman, and that only happens if we put in the work to train him properly from day one. That’s a commitment we’re proud to make.
We’re proud to have him in the Newfound family and excited to watch where this journey takes him.
