New AML/CTF Laws Are Changing Property Transactions in Australia
Australia's new Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) legislation means real estate agencies are now required to carry out additional customer due diligence as part of many property transactions.
As part of these new legal requirements from 1st of July, you may be asked to provide information about:
β
Your identity
β
Your source of funds (where the money for the purchase is coming from)
β
The beneficial owner of the funds or entity involved in the transaction (the person who ultimately owns or controls the asset or company if any)
β
Other information required to meet our compliance obligations
To make this process simple, secure, and efficient, Impressive Property Sales uses PEXA Clear.
You will receive a secure link from PEXA Clear via email or SMS, allowing you to complete your identity verification and provide any required information online. The process is designed to be quick, secure, and compliant with the new legislation.
These changes help protect Australia's property market from financial crime while ensuring transactions remain safe and transparent for everyone involved.
If you have any questions about these new requirements or the verification process, our team is here to help.
