With an influx of new projects and continued growth, Precision Pipe Networks are currently recruiting for an experienced SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER for a fixed term contract in Dubbo. We anticipate the term of this contract to be 6 months.
We are looking for a natural leader with an exceptional work ethic, who can lead by example within a team environment. You must be able to work independently, efficiently and enjoy the challenge of meeting deadlines to manage civil construction projects through to completion. Your ultimate aim is to lead and work with the delivery team to ensure the successful delivery of the project within the constraints for time, cost, quality, safety and the environment in accordance with company policies and procedures. You will ensure the quality of work, health & safety of the site crew, environmental compliance and client and stakeholder satisfaction.
Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Ensure projects are completed in a safe and timely manner
- Comply with management systems policies and procedures
- Understand the project scope and work with the Site Supervisor to implement time and cost-effective construction methodologies
- Assist the Site Supervisor and Operations Manager in the organisation of labour and equipment
- Ensure timely ordering of materials and services to support works
- Ensure materials and services are procured from Precision Pipe Networks’ approved suppliers
- Monitor the co-ordination of site activities by the Site Supervisor
- Ensure the construction program is adhered to and updated weekly
- Liaise with the client’s representative to resolve technical, commercial and scheduling issues
- Prepare weekly and monthly project reports as required
- Attend site inspections and prepare estimates and submissions for works under contract
- Monitor field productivity against program and budget and take action when targets are not being met
- Identify variations and submit notifications to the client
- Establish and maintain a positive and productive client relationship
- Attend meetings with the client’s representative
Skills and experience required:
- Degree qualified as a Civil Engineer or equivalent
- A minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Proven experience delivering contracts for major clients; Tier 1 Contractors, Transport for NSW, Local &/or Regional Councils
- Prior experience delivering pipeline projects (water/sewer/stormwater)
- Commitment to safe working practices
- Motivated, reliable and physically fit
- Ability to lead and inspire teams
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and liaise effectively with all stakeholders
- Demonstrated sound judgement and ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality
- Confident using Microsoft software and other relevant computer applications
- Sound negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Have an appreciation for legislation, regulations, standards and approved processes, and an understanding of their implications, with a view to implementing them.
