✅Project complete: 270kW of lightweight solar for Mowanjum Aboriginal Community ☀️

Proud to share that Quinncroft Electrical Group was contracted by Mechanical Project Services to carry out the solar installations across 27 community homes at Mowanjum, just outside Derby in the Kimberley.

That’s 270kW of rooftop solar now generating clean, more affordable energy for local families.

The project was delivered by MPS under Horizon Power’s Kimberley Communities Solar Saver (KCSS) Program, supported by the Western Australian and Federal Governments, giving remote communities across WA greater access to renewable energy.

Working in the Kimberley comes with its challenges: heat, vast distances, complex logistics and tight timeframes. Our crew flew in from Perth and got it done with professionalism, adaptability and respect for the community and its culture.

The homes were fitted with Sunman Energy lightweight flexible solar panels. They sit flush with the roof, with no glass surface and no exposed racking, which makes them resistant to damage, low maintenance and considerably lighter than traditional glass panels. That suits roofs that may not be able to carry the extra weight.

A sincere thank you to MPS for trusting us with the installation, to the Mowanjum community for welcoming our team, and to Horizon Power for a program that is making a real difference in regional WA.

⚡️ SUPPLY & INSTALL — ELLINGTON JAZZ CLUB 🎷

Another tricky commercial air con install completed today for the team at Ellington Jazz Club.

We supplied and installed:
❄️ 2 × Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ciara 7kW
❄️ 1 × Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ciara 3.5kW

These weren’t exactly straightforward installs either — all three required a cherry picker, with pipework carefully routed through the roof to get everything where it needed to go.

Working at height, awkward access and tricky pipe runs — exactly the sort of jobs where experience and good planning make all the difference.
