Imagine being told by your teacher that you shouldn’t — and wouldn’t — become a carpenter or builder like your dad.

Some people hear that and change direction.

Others hear it and think, “Stuff you. Watch me.”

Clea White — The Little Chippy Chick — backed herself, trusted her gut and went and did it anyway.

And thank God she did.

Sometimes the people telling you what you can’t do are the exact reason you need to go and fu***ng do it.

When I was an apprentice, I got told to cut the line in half.

I remember staring at this 1mm-thick pencil line thinking, “Is this bloke fu***ng crazy? As if half a mil is gonna make a difference.”

Turns out… sometimes that half a mil makes all the difference 😂

Funny how the stuff that made absolutely no sense as an apprentice eventually becomes what you’re teaching the next one.

Working by yourself means finding ways to make every job a two-man job… without the second bloke. 😂

The OX Tools AU Speedframe has been bloody handy for that. Extend it to where I need it, lock it off and get an accurate level or measurement without needing someone holding the other end.

One of those tools that just makes working solo that little bit easier. 👌🔨

Definitely one of the cooler jobs I’ve done lately 👌

Taking what was essentially wasted roof space and turning it into a fully usable attic — something completely different and a bloody good challenge.

Couldn’t have done it without my mate Trisso Builds putting in the hard yards with me. Great clients, a heap of problem solving, and plenty of elevations 😅

Absolutely stoked with how this one came together.
