Some projects are bigger than construction.

Earlier this month, our director Sarah Dimitrievski travelled to Africa to work alongside veteran rehabilitation initiatives and local communities, sharing modern methods of construction that can help create faster, more sustainable housing outcomes in developing regions.

But this trip was about far more than building.

It was about purpose, skills, opportunity, and supporting programs that help veterans transition into meaningful civilian life through community, structure and vocational pathways.

At Chandolin Construction, we believe construction has the power to create lasting impact far beyond the project itself.

Because real leadership isn’t just measured by what you build… It’s measured by the lives you impact along the way.

This experience reinforced one thing clearly:
the future of construction is global, collaborative, and deeply human.

Today has been one of those days that really stays with you.

Being here on ANZAC Day, alongside the incredible people from the Veteran Wildlife Ranger Alliance, has honestly been something special.

You hear about veterans and PTSD; but what you don’t always see is what happens after. What happens when they find purpose again.

Out here, they’re not just veterans:
They’re protectors of wildlife.
They’re supporting local communities.
They’re out on the ground, doing real, meaningful work every single day.

And you can feel it… the pride, the connection, the sense of belonging again.

It’s powerful.

To see people who have given so much… continue to give. Not because they have to, but because they want to.

This trip to Africa to work alongside the Veterans Wildlife Ranger Alliance wasn’t just about remembering the past.

It was about seeing the strength that still exists today, in a different form, and learn how we can adopt those same values in today’s society.

So much respect for every single one of them. Truly.
