Work continues to progress at the Loxley project.

We’ve cut sections of the existing slab to install new plumbing points and footings for the future accessible toilet and office space, helping bring this beautiful heritage building into modern use.

Along the way, we’ve uncovered rising damp along the rear wall of the stables. After removing the soil against the brickwork, we’ll be installing a liquid damp course to protect the building well into the future.

We’ve also been crafting a new stable door to replicate the original, which unfortunately was too damaged to restore. The new door is being made from reclaimed Oregon timber collected from various renovation projects around Bathurst, giving new life to a piece of the town’s history.

🏛️ Loxley House Stables Restoration – Bathurst

We are excited to have officially commenced the restoration and transformation of the historic stables at Loxley House.

After working closely with Bathurst Regional Council and their heritage advisors, we have received approval to begin works on this beautiful heritage-listed building.

A key part of the project involves carefully restoring sections of brickwork that were previously repaired using an unsuitable mortar. These areas are being rectified using traditional lime mortar, ensuring the building can breathe naturally and preserving its historic integrity for generations to come.

In keeping with sustainable restoration practices, we are also reusing the original bricks from a new window opening that will form part of the new office space, allowing us to retain as much of the building’s original character as possible.

The transformation will also include the addition of a fully accessible toilet, improving functionality and accessibility while respecting the heritage significance of the site.

It is a privilege to be entrusted with the restoration of such an important piece of Bathurst’s history, and we look forward to sharing the progress of this unique project as it takes shape.

This laundry renovation was all about transforming a tired, impractical area into something functional, fresh, and beautifully finished. A fresh start with a nod to the past. We carefully demolished the original dwelling, which was sadly beyond repair, and gave its story new life by reusing the original bricks in this beautiful new 4-bedroom home.

Designed and built in the heart of Bathurst, this home was created to blend seamlessly with the streetscape while preserving the natural charm that makes Bathurst so special. Old character, new beginnings, and a home built to last.

17 Manilla St — A full transformation from the ground up 🛠️✨

We stripped this beautiful old home back to its solid bones and rebuilt it with the renovation it truly deserved. Every detail was considered, every element respected.

On Manilla Street in the heart of Bathurst, this project was all about honouring the past while building for the future.

We crafted replica timber windows — custom made to suit the home’s original character — and managed to incorporate double-glazed glass for modern performance. The original corbels and intricate details were carefully restored, bringing back the charm and craftsmanship that make these homes so special.
