Hines Constructions is proud to mark the commencement of the Queanbeyan Basketball Centre Upgrade and Expansion, with a recent sod-turning ceremony celebrating the start of this exciting community and sporting infrastructure project.

Delivered for the Queanbeyan District Basketball Association, with the support of Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council, the project includes construction of a new full-size basketball stadium, refurbishment of existing amenities, and installation of new cladding to revitalise the facility's entry façade. The upgraded centre will also feature a professional-grade sports floor, associated electronic sporting equipment, and an all-abilities access lift to enhance accessibility for players, officials, and spectators.

We look forward to working alongside QDBA, JENARC, Facility Design Group, Eclipse Consulting Engineers, and the local community to bring this important sporting asset to life.

The Denise Spencer Aquatic Centre project in Roma continues to make strong progress, with key structural and civil works advancing across the site as the facility begins to take shape.

Frames and trusses are now complete throughout the development, external cladding has commenced, and work is underway to prepare the concourse slabs. The grandstand has also reached an important milestone, with its first concrete pour completed, while the concourse connecting the indoor 25m and Learn to Swim pools is now finished.

Across the facility, internal linings and tile beds continue to progress, and preparation works for the Waterplay pool are underway, with hold-down bolts installed ready for reinforcement and pipework. Each milestone reflects the careful planning, coordination, and expertise required to deliver a project of this scale.
