We recently helped a customer who was tired of struggling to find their keys at night. We installed 2 spotlights and 2 feature up/down lights, all connected to a motion sensor — so now, the area lights up automatically as soon as someone approaches. 🌟

Factory Switchboard Upgrade – Safety First!

Just wrapped up a switchboard upgrade at a factory, replacing an old setup full of outdated quick lag breakers. Thermal imaging tests had revealed multiple hot spots — a clear sign it was time for an upgrade.

We installed a brand new 84-pole board with a 225A main switch and upgraded all circuits to RCBOs (except for the 3-phase motor supplies, which were retained as-is). The result? A much safer, more reliable switchboard ready to handle the load.

Switchboard Upgrade – RCDs vs Ceramic Fuses

We’re recommending a switchboard upgrade to replace the existing ceramic fuses with modern RCD (Residual Current Device) protection. Unlike ceramic fuses, RCDs are designed to detect even small leakage currents and disconnect power almost instantly in the event of a fault—drastically reducing the risk of electric shock or fire.

Ceramic fuses offer limited protection and can be slow to respond, whereas RCDs meet current safety standards and provide a far higher level of protection for both people and property. Upgrading your switchboard ensures your electrical system is safer, more reliable, and compliant with today’s regulations.

Switchboard upgrade for this house. The house had a 8mm 40amp main switch which wasn’t big enough to run there new air con. So upgraded the cables from the 25mm 100amp supply from 8mm to 16mm for more amps. All new rcbos and also installed a surge protection device to the house so if the house does get hit with an electrical storm all there devices inside will not be effected.
