✴️ STITCHING ACCESSORIES

Okay, so we all know that you can't have a stitchy project without a few accessories right? 🙃😁 When I'm knitting, I find my go-to accessory is my needle point protectors while with crochet it's stitch markers. 🧶 When it comes to cross stitching however, my absolute must-have is a whole bunch of needle minders. One is just never enough! I use multiple minders on each project to not only hold my needle but also all my parked threads. 🪡 I'd be in an absolute tangle without them.

What's your favourite stitching accessory...you know, the one you just can't craft without?

I thought I'd take advantage of the public holiday today to think about finishing up some gifts I've been working on over the past year. I'd been putting it off for some time and decided that today was the day...it's now or never. A month or so ago I ordered all the bits and bobs I thought I'd need and just had them on standby for when the urge grabbed me to actually get the job done. Hmm...9 hours later and multiple scrounges through boxes of craft supplies, I think I'm finished. Next time I think it'll be a bottle of booze and a lotto ticket! 🙄🤣

✴️ PROJECT BAGS

I love project bags! 💞 I have many ranging from the good ol' zip-lock bag, large shopping bags and plastic Amazon zippered pouches, to handmade fabric project folios, satchels and vinyl-fronted bags. It appears I'm not too fussy when it comes to storing my cross stitch projects. 😆 My goal is to eventually get all of my cross stitch projects into my own handmade project bags, in various sizes and styles that suit the size of my projects (because I'm lazy when it comes to removing them from the Q-snaps 🫢).

So, I'm curious...what's your thoughts on Project Bags? Do you like them large to fit your frames in too? Or small so they're easily stored and transportable? What's your preference - satchel-style or vinyl-fronted so you can easily see what's in the bag? I like both styles but I've really been loving the large vinyl-fronted ones I made for myself last Christmas as they fit my full coverage projects (on their frames! 😁) very nicely.

It's Stitchy Sunday for me...how about you? Anyone else saving their sanity today with a little crafting time?

Another crazy week done and another about to begin! My survival strategy this year has been to ensure I get a good amount of stitching time on the weekends...in between all those must-do, much-dreaded household chores of course. My sanity check is definitely "Stitchy Sunday". It's all about the stitching on Sunday...blocking out the dramas that the day job brings and just getting lost in hundreds of little "X's.

Today I've been working on a cross stitch letter 'D'. A lot of confetti stitching, but boy, doesn't it just bring out the detail in this piece! It has an extensive array of gorgeous colours and I love how they're showing up on the fabric (a piece I dyed myself 😊).

So, is it 'Stitchy Sunday' in your world? What's your go-to craft for shutting out the world and reclaiming a little sliver of sanity before the madness starts all over again on Monday?

This year...did anyone see it? I think I blinked and missed it! 👀🤷‍♀️

Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing okay? Somehow, life has gotten crazy busy...you know, the stupid kind of busy where every day just zooms by and the next minute you know, another year is done and dusted before you even really got started with it? Well, it's not quite there yet, but it's not far off!

For what it's worth, I'm sorry I've not been at all present in this space for quite a chunk of the year. I'd like to say I could have done better, but I really don't think I could have. Not only has this year totally rushed by, but mine has taken a few crazy turns which I didn't anticipate and I've found myself a little left of centre and not quite sure which way is up really. I had such plans too...

So, I'm going to try to redirect a little bit of energy and attention back to this space and try to get back to the things I really enjoy. In the meantime, how about you? What have you all been doing with your time?

What a great weekend that was! It was certainly the most relaxing and productive (not sure those two words belong in the same sentence together but hey-ho, I'm throwing good literary conventions into the wind it seems! 😝 ) one I've had in quite a while. I managed to clock up 1,500+ stitches across five different projects and watch countless hours of Flosstube while wallowing in all that stitchy goodness! And this year, I'm actually ahead of the game and have my fabric dyed and ready to go for the new Lola Crow 'Museum After Midnight' SAL kicking off later this month. 💪🙌

So... how was your Easter weekend?
