A Surveyor's Sunrise or Sunset?

Well.. it could be either!

Because before the first brick, before the first excavator, before a single line goes on a plan a surveyor has already been there. Boundaries confirmed, land understood, the way forward mapped out. It's the first step of every great project, and honestly, one of the most important.

A surveyor is often the last one on site too, making sure builds match designs and all is certified and ready to hand over. From first peg to final sign-off, surveyors make sure everything in between holds together.

As an Indigenous-owned business, NAIDOC Week holds a special significance for all of us at TSS.

This year marks 50 years of NAIDOC, celebrating the enduring strength, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It's also an opportunity to reflect on something we can all contribute to every day: connection.

Delivering accurate data in complex environments is where TSS Total Surveying Solutions excels.

One of our recent projects involved completing a detailed as-constructed survey of a live electrical substation within an operational industrial facility. Working in active environments requires not only technical expertise, but also careful planning, efficiency and a strong focus on safety.

Using high-resolution terrestrial laser scanning, our team captured millions of accurate data points in a fraction of the time required by traditional survey methods. The technology enabled us to comprehensively record the site with minimal disruption, reducing the need for return visits while ensuring no critical detail was missed.

Back in the office, the point cloud data was processed and transformed into a suite of intelligent deliverables, including:

At TSS Total Surveying Solutions, we're incredibly proud of the team we've built.

Surveying can be demanding work, but having the right people around you makes all the difference. From our Land & Development, Scanning, Civil, Construction and Cadastral teams through to our support staff, it's the commitment, professionalism and positive attitude of our people that drives everything we do.

Another thing that makes TSS special is the variety of projects we get to work on across Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne and Canberra. Residential developments, roads, rail, high rises, industrial, hospitals, schools and more! No two days are the same, which keeps things interesting and provides great opportunities for learning, growth and career development.

We're also committed to creating an environment where our team can do their best work with quality equipment, strong support from management, flexibility and a genuine focus on work-life balance.
