Mechanical / HVAC & Refrigeration Manager
TR!PL3 Fire Electrical & Refrigeration – Alice Springs, NT
Full-Time | Senior Management Role | Genuine Autonomy
Ready to take the lead?
TR!PL3 Fire Electrical & Refrigeration is looking for an experienced Mechanical / HVAC & Refrigeration Manager to take a key role within our growing team in Alice Springs.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced refrigeration mechanic, HVAC manager, supervisor or mechanical services professional who wants more responsibility, more variety and genuine input into how the mechanical and refrigeration side of the business is run.
You won’t be stuck behind a desk all week, and you won’t be just another number in a large organisation.
You’ll be involved in the full picture — managing projects, leading the team, reviewing designs, pricing works, coordinating procurement, solving technical problems, dealing directly with clients and builders, and seeing projects through from the first conversation to final commissioning and handover.
You’ll have the autonomy to make decisions, organise your team and take ownership of your projects, while still having the support of the wider TR!PL3 business.
If you enjoy taking responsibility, solving problems and getting things moving, this is a role where you can have a real impact.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll take a leading role in managing our mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration operations across commercial, government, service and project environments.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing and supporting our refrigeration mechanics and apprentices.
• Planning labour and coordinating daily, weekly and upcoming works.
• Managing commercial HVAC and refrigeration projects from start to finish.
• Reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications and equipment selections.
• Preparing quotations, estimates, variations and material take-offs.
• Coordinating shop drawings, engineering and design changes.
• Managing RFIs, technical queries, approvals and variations.
• Dealing directly with builders, consultants, engineers, clients and suppliers.
• Coordinating equipment and material procurement.
• Managing long-lead equipment, project programmes and delivery requirements.
• Monitoring project costs, labour and progress.
• Providing technical support and fault-finding assistance to the field team.
• Attending site meetings and resolving technical and coordination issues.
• Reviewing installation quality and ensuring works are completed to a high standard.
• Coordinating testing, commissioning and project handover.
• Managing defects and outstanding works through to completion.
• Preparing and reviewing commissioning records, equipment registers and O&M documentation.
• Identifying additional works and ensuring variations are captured and approved.
• Mentoring apprentices and helping develop the refrigeration team.
• Managing workloads, priorities and resources across multiple jobs.
• Working closely with our electrical and fire divisions on multi-trade projects.
• Helping improve systems, processes and the overall operation of the mechanical and refrigeration division.
This Isn’t Just a Desk Job
This role sits across management, project delivery, estimating, technical support, client relationships and team leadership.
You’ll have the opportunity to take genuine ownership of the mechanical and refrigeration side of the business and be involved in decisions that actually matter.
Some days you’ll be in the office reviewing drawings, pricing works, ordering equipment and planning upcoming projects.
Other days you’ll be on site resolving an installation issue, supporting a technician with a difficult fault, attending a project meeting or working directly with a builder or consultant to keep things moving.
There is plenty of variety, plenty of responsibility and plenty of opportunity for someone who wants to take their career to the next level.
