We’re back at the - but on the other side of it.

After building a show garden here last year, you can’t help but see everything differently. You notice the details, the pressure, the amount of work behind every single space.

Some seriously beautiful gardens this year, with the most incredible detail.

Massive credit to all the teams involved - it’s a huge effort to get these over the line.

We’d love to know which one was your favourite 🌿

Opening this space up changed everything.

By removing the existing pergola and shed, natural light was able to return to the home - something that had been missing for a long time. From there, the focus was on rebuilding that structure in a way that worked with the light, not against it.

A new cathedral-style pergola now defines the space - higher, lighter, and proportioned to provide shade without closing things in. The pool has been positioned to one side of the garden, allowing for a generous lawn area alongside it - creating a much more usable layout for both everyday living and entertaining.

Planting is still finding its feet, but the intent is there - layers of texture, movement, and seasonal change that will continue to build over time. Alongside the pool, the garden becomes a little more relaxed - steppers set within Dichondra, planting softening edges, and a space that invites you to slow down and spend time in the garden.

A simple shift from enclosed to open - and a space that now feels easy to live in and use. Our clients were incredibly accomodating throughout this project, and we’re so happy they can now enjoy it together as a family.

Small gardens often come with constraints, but when resolved well, they can be just as functional and beautiful as larger landscapes.

Our North Adelaide garden was reimagined to make better use of a narrow footprint. What was once a raised garden bed filled with oversized bamboo and artificial turf has been reshaped into a more usable and considered space. The idea was to keep things simple and cohesive - tumbled limestone underfoot, paired with curved burnished concrete seating to soften the space and guide movement through it.

A custom chimney anchors the garden and creates a natural place to gather, with a copper pizza oven adding warmth and another layer of use. Planting has been kept fairly restrained and textural, allowing the structure of the space to come through, while subtle lighting extends its use into the evening. A custom room has also been built and connected to the existing shed, adding practical storage without interrupting the flow of the garden.

A considered balance of function, material and atmosphere within a compact setting.

Over a couple intense weeks in Carlton Gardens, an empty site was transformed into a 200sqm show garden - the result of a huge amount of planning, problem solving and long days on site to bring the vision to life.

Seeing the finished garden open to the public was incredibly rewarding, and even more special to see it recognised with Gold Medal, Best in Show and Best Use of Plant Life.

Like all show gardens, it came together through the collaboration of many talented people and contributors who helped make it possible.

A year on, it’s still something we’re very proud to have been part of.

Here are a few moments we captured of the garden along the way.

From above, the deep blue water of the pool—achieved with rich blue gum tiles—ties into the home’s material and colour palette.

Lush ligularias and alpinias wrap the space in green, softening the bold lines and bringing a relaxed, courtyard feel.

A custom deck curves around the pool and leads into a burnished concrete outdoor kitchen, finished with a fireplace designed specifically for this space.

Designed, built, and maintained by us—including the pool—this garden shows how even a compact space can feel effortlessly calm and welcoming.

This garden sits easily alongside the home, creating an outdoor space that feels practical, comfortable and well used.

Dichondra repens grows through and around the bluestone cobble steppers softening the stone and giving the paths a relaxed, natural feel. It’s paired with simple, textural planting that keeps the space green without feeling overworked.

At the heart of the garden, a burnished concrete fire pit is surrounded by layered planting, creating a spot that naturally draws people in. It’s a space designed for quiet evenings, family gatherings, and everything in between.

What started as a steep, unusable space has now become one of our favourite garden transformations.

By incorporating a pedestrian gate, burnished concrete steps, bench seating and two soft terraces, we were able to turn an awkward slope into a space you actually want to be in.

Perennials now spill and sway through the garden — Billy Buttons, Verbena, Teucrium and Pratia weaving between the concrete steps. It’s one of those gardens that feels inviting the moment you step in.

We’re proud to have designed, built and now care for this space.

In the Davenport courtyard garden, a concrete planter anchors the space, with a Lagerstroemia (Crepe Myrtle) bringing soft seasonal colour.

Bluestone paving curves around dwarf Ophiopogon Japonicas, while Salvia officinalis (Sage), Tulbaghia violacea (Society Garlic) and Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) soften the edges and add texture, scent and subtle colour.

The Crepe Myrtle is underplanted with Dichondra ‘Silver Falls’, which drapes gently over the planter’s edge, adding a soft, trailing element.

Silver Gull granite wraps through the property, linking the courtyard and front garden, while evergreen structure keeps the garden feeling alive year-round.

This front garden didn’t quite reflect the way the family wanted to live, so we redesigned it- not just as a garden, but as a welcoming extension of their home.

We retained the Betula pendulas, retiled the verandah, added a pedestrian path of natural bluestone, and framed the space with a classic white picket fence. A lush lawn now provides space for the family to relax, while structured Buxus, soft perennials and floribunda roses bring texture and form to the space.

The result? A front garden that’s beautiful, functional, and entirely in tune with the home and family.
